When and where is the Craft Lake City DIY Festival being held?

Salt Lake City’s 9th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival is a three-day event and will take place Friday, Aug. 11 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 12 from noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 13  from noon to 7 p.m.

Festival Admission is $5. Children 12 and under are free.

VIP Tickets are $25 and allow admission into both the festival and VIP Lounge. Children 12 and under are allowed in VIP with an accompanying parental guardian that is 21 or older.

Is the Craft Lake City DIY Festival outdoors?

While most of the festival programing is outdoors throughout the Gallivan Plaza and behind the plaza on Gallivan Avenue, Craft Lake City’s DIY Festival also has an indoor, air-conditioned STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)Building sponsored by Google. Projects inside feature handmade tech creations by DIY Engineers.

How much does it cost to get in?

Festival Admission is $5. Children 12 and under are free.

Tickets will be available for sale, early June 2017.

How many booths will there be?

The Craft Lake City DIY Festival features over 200 exhibitors, showcasing and selling anything and everything DIY (Do-It-Yourself). From arts, crafts, vintage, craft food to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) exhibits, there is something for everyone.

Where can I park?

$5 parking will be offered in the Utah One/Gallivan/Marriott parking lot. This parking lot can be accessed by 200 S. Parking will also be available at the Walker Center across the street for $5 to $25, depending on how long you are parked there.

We encourage you to take advantage of Salt Lake City’s public transit via TRAX or bus, walking, biking, Uber, Lyft, or carpooling to CLC.

Is there a bike valet?

Yes, and it’s free! We are proud to partner with the Bike Collective to present Craft Lake City’s Bike Valet sponsored by City Creek. It is located at the 200 South Entrance of the Gallivan Center. As it is a free service, tipping is recommended. Bike valet closes promptly at 10PM on Friday and Saturday and at 7PM on Sunday. All bikes must be picked up by then.

Will there be a children’s area?

Yes! The children’s area is open during the public hours of the festival. There will be make-and-take art projects for kids of all ages, a bounce house, craft food project, as well as other interactive children’s activities.

New this year, IKEA will furnish a parenting lounge to provide parents with a place to rest with their children.

In addition, Craft Lake City is pleased to debut Kid Row, a new addition to the 2017 DIY Festival. Kid Row will enable kids ages 14 and under to participate in a special section of the Festival as official artisans, selling their wares and interacting with attendees. Applications for Kid Row are open through May 17, 2017, and more information can be found at http://craftlakecity.com/kid-row/.

Are pets allowed at Craft Lake City’s DIY Festival?

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed on Gallivan Plaza. Only service animals will be permitted inside the festival grounds.

How do I become an exhibitor?

Craft Lake City’s DIY Festival is a juried festival. Applications for artisans, DIY engineers, craft foodies, vintage, and performers for the 9th annual Craft Lake City festival were due on or before April 17. After the deadline, please email us at artisancoordinator@craftlakecity.com if you are interested in being added to the waitlist. How do I know if I made it into the DIY festival?

All Artisans, Craft Foodies, DIY Engineers, Performers & Vintage Vendors will be announced on craftlakecity.com on May 15, 2017.

*Vendor booth, table, and fee payments are due on or before June 15, 2017. Late payments will be accepted (with an added $50 fee) through June 22, 2017. If we do not receive your payment by June 22, 2017, you forfeit your spot and we will reassign it to another exhibitor from the waiting list. Applicants must be prepared to pay participation fees in full by this date. No exceptions.

Do I have to be Utah based to participate?

Yes. All vendors must reside in Utah.
