Craft Lake City Announces 9th Annual DIY Festival Exhibitors!

SALT LAKE CITY, May 15, 2017 — Craft Lake City® is excited to announce this year’s participating exhibitors for the 9th Annual DIY Festival® Presented by Harmons. The DIY Festival is held annually at the Gallivan Center, located at 239 S. Main Street. This year, the Festival will be held for three days: Friday, Aug. 11 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 12 from noon to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 13 from noon to 7 p.m.

After receiving hundreds of applications across all categories, the Craft Lake City jury underwent the difficult task of selecting over 250 artisans, craft foodies, vintage vendors, and DIY engineers. The accepted applicants represent a wide range of artisans within Utah’s vibrant DIY movement. Attendees of the three-day festival can expect to find items created by local artisans such as paper goods, gourmet baked treats, handmade clothing, crocheted goods, home decor, screen-printed designs, handmade body care products, stencil artwork, photography, jewelry and much more. DIY engineers are showcased in the Google Fiber STEM Building and include individuals creating exciting technology projects such as hackable educational toys, robotics, alternative energy ideas, and LED lighting solutions.

In addition, the DIY Festival will include dozens of commercial food vendors and live performances from local artists on two stages throughout the weekend.

“Craft Lake City is so pleased to offer this platform for local makers of all kinds to showcase their work,” says Angela Brown, Executive Director of Craft Lake City. “From handcrafted artisan goods, to interactive technology projects, to local bands, Craft Lake City loves to celebrate the creative spirit of Utah in all its forms. The DIY Festival truly has something for everyone.”
