Craft Lake City Celebrates The Holidays with “12 Days of Craft Lake.”

SALT LAKE CITY, Friday, Nov. 30 – Craft Lake City is celebrating the holidays this year with a “12 Days of Craft Lake” auction from Dec. 1-12. The auction will include donated items from local Utah artists and companies posted on eBay each day in an effort to promote these local businesses to holiday shoppers, and raise money to expand the annual Craft Lake City DIY festival to a two-day event on Aug. 9-10, 2013.

On each morning of the 12 Days of Craft Lake, a new video will be posted on the Craft Lake City blog featured on the CLC website: craftlakecity.org. The video will contain details on the new item available in the auction, which will remain up for bid for 7 days after it is posted.

Businesses and artists participating in the auction include Glitch Wear, GlitterGutterGlamour, Peach Treats, Velo City Bags, Sorry Clementine, Nic Annette Miller, Annika Quinn, Candace Jean Anderson, Michelle Christensen, Desert Rose Jewelry by Malinda Fisher, Centered City, United Concerts and The Depot.

All proceeds from the auction will go towards the Craft Lake City organization to ensure that the increased costs (for taking the festival to a two-day format) will not affect festival attendees in the form of an admission fee.

About Craft Lake City: Craft Lake City is a 501-C3 charitable organization. Our mission is to educate, promote and inspire local artisans while elevating the creative culture of the Utah arts community through science, technology and art. We organize various monthly and annual events to keep the community active, educated and aware of local DIY (do it yourself) culture. We promote regional spending and encourage the public to shop locally and support independent artisans whose crafts are handmade. We do this by hosting monthly workshops, demonstrations, gallery shows, DIY gatherings, fundraisers and collaborative projects with like-minded organizations. Since 2009, Craft Lake City has hosted the largest DIY Festival in Utah. In 2012, over 15,000 people attended the festival at the Gallivan Center in downtown Salt Lake. The festival’s fifth year commences in 2013. To celebrate, Craft Lake City will expand the annual gathering into a two-day format on Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10.For more information about Craft Lake City check out craftlakecity.com, like us on Facebook (facebook.com/Craft.Lake.City) and follow us on Twitter (@craftlakecity).
