On October 11, West Elm opened their first Utah store in Salt Lake City at City Creek. To celebrate the new store opening, West Elm held a pre-opening party on October 10. Guests were invited to take a peek inside the new store and enjoy 10% off of their purchases. West Elm donated a portion of the night's proceeds to benefit Craft Lake City.

The 2012 Craft Lake City Festival was held on August 11, 2012 at the Gallivan Center in downtown Salt Lake City. Featuring over 200 Exhibitors from arts and crafts vendors to DIY Engineers who filled XMission's Science and Technology with robotics, video games, 3D printers, handcrafted guitar amps and more.

The April West Elm and Craft Lake City workshop featured CLC Alum, Stacey Rabiger of Ker-ij Jewelry. Stacey taught workshop participants how to create glassware charms to add to the stem of a wine or champagne glass.
We celebrated spring and West Elm's colorcrush of the month, Watermelon, with some watermelon juice donated by Frida Bistro and Rico Catering.

On February 28, West Elm welcomed the DIY Workshop Series and Shirley Jackson, who taught workshop participants how to make their own handmade journal.

West Elm Salt Lake City hosted the November Craft Lake Artist Workshop Series featuring Michelle Christensen of My Little Belleville. Michelle taught workshop participants all about painting onto ceramic mugs. West Elm provided the white mugs for them to paint on as well as the space for the workshop.

Craft Lake City is proud to present the second phase in our outdoor gallery exhibit, Celebration of the Hand. This is the first of four rotating exhibits in 2013 that will hang in steel Plakats lining the sidewalks on the North and South sides of Broadway (300 South) between 200 West and 200 East throughout 2013. Meet Candace Jean, she has been vending at Craft Lake City since the first festival in 2009. She is a creative dreamer, inspired by the Victorian era and her Persian cat, Winston.

Megan Whittaker, 2011 CLC Alum, is somewhat of a master when it comes to French Macaroons. They look and taste like tiny pieces of edible art.
This girl knows the art of baking. From macaroons to homemade marshmallows, wedding cakes and other fancy treats, you can't go wrong with anything she whips up.
