Two Ways to Volunteer!


Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Second Annual Craft Lake City Holiday Market! We would be thrilled to have you join our volunteer team and are excited to offer two unique was of helping out this holiday season: online or in-person.

With our online format, Utah’s creatives will have the opportunity to display their work in 3D, interactive, virtual galleries. The Online Craft Lake City Holiday Market with feature two live virtual meet ups in our custom-made, virtual reality, holiday wonderland.

With this new virtual experience, we are looking for volunteers to help remotely using their home computer as Virtual Volunteer Ambassador Team members during the Online Holiday Market. We also excited to offer a unique volunteer opportunity helping throughout the month of November joining our Volunteer Copy Editor Team. More information about both volunteer roles can be found below.

The Online Craft Lake City Holiday Market will launch Nov.1 and run through Nov. 30th. with two live virtual meetup events taking place on Fri., Nov. 6 & Fri., Nov. 20 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.




We are excited to return to The Monarch in Ogden’s Nine Rails Creative District to produce the Second Annual Craft Lake City Holiday Market! Now a two-day event, our in-person market will be held on Fri., Dec. 4 from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. and Sat., Dec. 5 from 11 a.m.- 5 p.m.

With a two-day festive experience, we are thrilled to offer safe in-person volunteer opportunities to help during the event. Craft Lake City is dedicated to creating a safe environment for makers, attendees, staff and volunteers based on governmental covid-19 guidelines. Masks will be required to be worn by all attendees, staff, participants and volunteers.  For your safety, we ask that members of at-risk groups such as those above the age of 65 or anyone with an underlying medical condition please refrain from volunteering in-person and assist with our Online Holiday Market as an alternative.

In-person volunteers are needed to help with artisan load-in, coat check, flex volunteering, safety enforcers, and Holiday Market tear-down. A full list of volunteer roles and job descriptions are listed below.

Virtual Volunteer Ambassador


Without the virtual support from volunteers, our staff could not manage to ensure the Virtual 12th Annual Craft Lake City® DIY Festival® Presented By Harmons remains a safe and inclusive environment for attendees and participants. By representing the organization through Craft Lake City’s virtual volunteer program as a Virtual Volunteer Ambassador, you will get to engage with a diverse creative cyber community and show support for local artisans safely from your own home! This is a great way to be more involved with Craft Lake City and help us further our mission of elevating the creative culture of the Utah Arts community. You will receive many thanks and smiles for your assistance, get a behind-the-scenes virtual experience of the Festival, interact with artisans, make new friends, and show your support of our local art economy.


The Virtual Volunteer Ambassador represents the organization as a personalized virtual avatar during the Craft Lake City Virtual DIY Festival August 7 – 9th.

Key Responsibilities:

• Representative of Craft Lake City as a personalized virtual avatar assigned to a gallery during a 2-hour shift during the Virtual DIY Festival

• Greet and interact with the participants as they virtually enter galleries

• Monitor the platform and alert Craft Lake City staff for any virtual trolls, offensive language and lewd comments

• Visit Craft Lake City YouTube Entertainment page and leave behind positive comments to increase performer recognition and attendee engagement

• Provide support and general information to artisans when necessary

• Promote the Virtual 12th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival on personal social media pages in advance and during the Virtual Festival

• Maintaining a safe and inclusive virtual environment during the event

• Have fun helping safely using personal laptop or desktop computer from home

Reports to:
Volunteer Coordinator

Length of appointment:
The Virtual Volunteer Ambassador assists for a minimum of a 2-hour shift during the Virtual Festival.

Time Commitment:
2-hour shift but you are welcome to volunteer for more than one!

An interest in creating meaningful experience between Craft Lake City and the community. Passion in helping the local makers movement and interest in promoting Craft Lake City’s mission. Pleasant manner, technologically savvy, dependability and ability to virtually engage with a wide diversity of individuals and age groups.

Training for this position is required. In addition, the Volunteer Coordinator and Craft Lake City staff will be available for questions and assistance during the Virtual DIY Festival.

Representing the organization through Craft Lake City’s virtual volunteer program is a fun way to engage with the community safely during the pandemic and share your passion for the arts. You will get a behind-the-scenes virtual experience of the Festival, engage with artisans, make new friends and support a positive virtual experience for both participants and attendees! Become a part of an innovative, new model of Festival attending that will help Craft Lake City reach a worldwide audience!
