About: My name is Cheryl Tenorio and I am the artist behind artianguis. I focus my work on ceramics, although I love making all kinds of art, such as prints, paintings, and even handmade journals.

The word Tianguis [ ' t i‿ä ŋ g i s ] comes from the Náhuatl tianquiztli (dialect that is still spoken in some parts of Mexico and El Salvador) and it’s the word used for open air market, bazaar or what is known as flea market. As a Visual Artist that was born and raised in Mexico, going to the tianguis every week was a tradition. Now that I live in the US, I thought this could be my way of spreading the love in a modern, yet so traditional way, by doing what I love.
