Craft Lake City Calls for Volunteers for 16th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival Presented By Harmons

Salt Lake City, UT – August 1, 2024 – Craft Lake City is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join the 16th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival Presented By Harmons and help create an unforgettable experience for Utah’s creative community. Volunteers will have the opportunity to engage with talented artisans, makers and DIY enthusiasts from across the region in a variety of volunteer positions, with shifts ranging from Festival prep on August 4th through the weekend of the Festival on August 11th.

Our DIY Fest volunteers get to connect with a creative community and gain hands-on experience in event management, while also enjoying exclusive perks such as free admission to the Festival, a DIY Fest volunteer shirt, snacks and more!” says Martian Gassner, Craft Lake City’s Volunteer Coordinator. “Whether you’re an art lover, a craft connoisseur, or simply someone who enjoys lending a helping hand, Craft Lake City has a role that will suit your interests and skills.”

Available Volunteer Positions Include:

  • Setup and Teardown Crew: Help us transform the Fairpark into a vibrant DIY wonderland and ensure a smooth festival experience.
  • Artisan Load-In/Load-Out: Support artisans as they arrive to set up their booth and unpack their car. We also help them at the end of the festival tearing down their booths and loading it back into their cars.
  • Gate Line Guide: Help guide and manage the entrance line as attendees arrive to get into the festival.
  • VIP Teardown: Friday of the festival is our VIP night when our big headliners are performing. Help with set up, tear down, and checking attendees into the VIP area, while also getting a free front row seat to our headline performers!
  • KID ROW Setup and Teardown: Switching the one day VIP lounge over to KID ROW for Saturday’s festival. As well as loading the youth artisans in and out.
  • Zone Manager Assistant: The zone manager supports the artisan booths around the festival from set up to tear down and everything in between. It’s a great way to connect with our artisans!
  • STEM: Connect with Utah’s makers, by helping with the STEM building load in, check in, as a craft assistant and more!
  • Entertainment: Assist the Entertainment Coordinator by checking in performers and helping them to their designated stage.
  • Food & Beverage: Help vendors with setup, restocking and provide general assistance throughout the festival.
  • Kids’ Area: Greet attendees as they arrive at the Kids’ Area and show/tell with them the features, assist with crafts and visit the nonprofit booths. This is a really fun area to engage with active kids and their parents/guardians. We are also looking for safely enforcers to help ensure our kid attendees are safe and having the most fun!
  • Green Team: Assist with our sustainability goals by removing garbage, clearing tables and maintaining a neat and clean environment. Ensure recyclables are properly disposed of and help promote recycling among guests.
