CRAFT LAKE CITY ANNOUNCES EVENT WITH SPONSOR ANIMAL JAM FOR THE 7th ANNUAL CRAFT LAKE CITY DIY FESTIVAL PRESENTED BY HARMONS & KEN GARFF FIAT

SALT LAKE CITY, Tuesday, July 28th — Craft Lake City is excited to announce a new sponsored event with Animal Jam for the 7th annual DIY Festival presented by Harmons and Ken Garff Fiat.

Animal Jam will be presenting live, exotic animals in front of the Graywhale Stage on Friday, August 7th from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, August 8th from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The presentation of the creatures that Animal Jam will feature is a unique and fascinating viewing experience for visitors of all ages!

Animal Jam is a local company that provides knowledge of animals and the outdoors through an online gaming experience. In association with the Craft Lake City DIY Festival STEM Building, Animal Jam aligns with the STEM mission in promoting the learning experience through science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Animal Jam specifically utilizes technology as a visual and imaginative solution to create an accessible educational environment that is enjoyable for youth, while integrating a responsible understanding of social online interaction.

“With the rapid growth and use of technology in the everyday environment, it’s important for youth today to get involved now,” says Meg Griggs, Event and PR Manager, ”Animal Jam creates a safe and entertaining atmosphere where learning is integrated with the gaming fun!”

Created in partnership with National Geographic, the Animal Jam digital game is a safe and exciting online playground for kids who love animals and the outdoors. Players create and customize their own animal characters and dens, chat with friends, adopt pets, team up for adventures, and feed their curiosity about animals and the natural world around them.

All educational content is accessible to players for free, including Animal Jam Academy (http://academy.animaljam.com) – a premier online resource center where kids can download exciting activities to complete when they’re not online. The DIY Festival is a two-day festival held annually at the Gallivan Center, located at 239 S. Main Street, on Aug. 7 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Aug. 8 from noon to 10 p.m.
