Salt Lake City, Dec. 29 — West Elm and Craft Lake City present the first workshop of 2017: Calligraphy with Sarah Beth Timmons. The workshop will be held at West Elm City Creek on Thursday, Jan. 12, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Sarah Beth Timmons, a multi-talented artist residing in Salt Lake City, has been creating her whole life. She attended her first art class at age 6 and learned how to cross stich at the age of 7. While learning cursive in the second grade, Timmons fell in love with letters and handwriting. Craft Lake City was delighted to have Timmons help at Craft Lake City’s charity event for Giving Tuesday by creating beautiful, hand-lettered cards for patrons who donated to the organization.

At this workshop, Timmons will teach participants how to create modern lettering with simple tools and give participants the resources they need to add beauty to their own writing.

“I’m happy Craft Lake City puts on workshops like this,” says Timmons. “I was raised with the belief that if you love something enough and you have the dedication, you can do anything you put your mind to. I think artwork should be fun, affordable and on every wall of your house!”

Craft Lake City hosts monthly workshops at West Elm City Creek, located at 51 S. Main St., Salt Lake City, Utah. This workshop series aims to compel participants of all skillsets to indulge in their creative sides to produce art and stylized home accoutrements.
