Harmons Returns as Presenting Sponsor for The 15th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival!

Craft Lake City is honored to announce that Harmons Grocery Stores is returning as the presenting sponsor for the 15th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival, marking their 11th consecutive year as the title sponsor for the Annual DIY Festival.

Craft Lake City’s Annual DIY (Do-It-Yourself) Festival is Utah’s largest local-centric, three-day arts, music, science & technology festival. Attracting over 20,000 attendees over the course of the second weekend each August, the DIY Fest is an event created by locals, for locals, that celebrates all things local. The 15th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival Presented By Harmons is set to be the largest yet, with over 370 local artisans, vintage vendors, foodies, youth entrepreneurs, performers, and STEM exhibitors as well as headlining performances by National acts Warpaint, Courtney Marie Andrews and Gable Price and Friends! All of this and more will take place at the Utah State Fairpark, on Fri., Aug. 11, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.; Sat., Aug. 12, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.; and Sun., Aug. 13, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

“We are pleased once again to support Craft Lake City’s Annual DIY festival,” said Lindee Nance, vice president of marketing for Harmons. “With over 90 years of operating as a local and independently operated business, Harmons appreciates the ingenuity, drive, and creativity that these crafters, artisans, and creators apply in the pursuit of their passion. We can’t wait to see what the festival has to offer in 2023.”

The first Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival (at the time simply known as Craft Lake City) was a one-day event held in 2009 at Gallivan Plaza in downtown Salt Lake City. Harmons Grocery Stores first joined as the presenting sponsor in 2013, the same year the festival first grew to be a two-day event.

The partnership between Harmons and Craft Lake City goes beyond just a title sponsorship, too. Harmons will also be returning to the Google Fiber STEM Building in 2023 to continue presenting their popular food and science demonstrations. In a blog post from July 2022, Harmons writes, “One of the best things about being a neighborhood grocer is the opportunity we get to work with local creators and makers throughout the state of Utah. Our partnership with Craft Lake City is a natural evolution of being a long-time part of our local community.” Harmons will also be returning to the Google Fiber STEM Building in 2023 for their popular food and science demonstrations.

The DIY Festival has continued to expand since Harmons and Craft Lake City first partnered in 2013, now encompassing all types of creatives, providing participants with both scholarships & mentorships and bringing the Utah arts community together for a massive, three-day celebration annually.

“With a full decade of their support behind us, we couldn’t be more grateful to have Harmons’ continued sponsorship of not only the Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival, but of our mission to elevate the creative culture of the Utah arts community,” says Angela H. Brown, Executive Director of Craft Lake City. “We thank them for continuing to believe in and promote Utah’s dreamers and makers!”
