Craft Lake City Announces Selected Artists for Alternative Arts and Crafts Festival

SALT LAKE CITY, June 19, 2009 – SLUG Magazine is announcing over 65 crafters and artists who will vend at their upcoming do it yourself alternative craft fair called Craft Lake City. Artists will include:

“We had over 120 submissions from artists across the Wasatch Front,” says Kate Wheadon, SLUG Magazine Director of Sales and Marketing and Craft Lake City organizer. “We brought in five judges to determine which artists would showcase at the festival. We feel the outcome represents the innovative and creative talent in this region.

”Craft Lake City will be held for the first time on August 8, 2009 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Gallivan Center in downtown Salt Lake City. The event is free and open to the public.

Craft Lake City is an outdoor alternative arts festival that will feature artists specializing in handmade goods. Affordably priced items like silk screened posters, progressive crafts, reconstructed clothing, knitted items and jewelery will be available. Entertainment will be provided throughout the day and will include craft demonstrations and musical acts. Craft Lake City is modelled after alternative national craft festivals like the Renegade Craft Fair and the Bazaar Bizarre. More information is available at www.craftlakecity.com.
