Salt Lake City, UT – Calling all creatives— A few days remain to apply to participate in the Virtual 12th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival® Presented By Harmons. Last month, Craft Lake City decided to take this year’s festival to the virtual world, and extended the exhibitor and performer participant deadline to June 15, 2020. The Virtual DIY Festival is still scheduled to take place August 7-9, 2020.
“We are committed to the safety and success of our creative community,” said Craft Lake City Artisan & Programs Manager Shelbey Lang. “The virtual format allows Utah’s artisans, crafters and makers to be celebrated like never before with an interactive digital platform and a reach that extends beyond state lines.”
Utah-based artisans, craft foodies, vintage vendors, STEM exhibitors, DIY engineers, performers and entertainers, multicultural organizations and kid row artisans are encouraged to apply on our website. Accepted exhibitors will be announced on July 1, 2020. Additionally, Craft Lake City’s 2020 Artisan Scholarship and Mentor Program and STEM Scholarship deadlines were also extended until June 18, 2020. Kid Row Scholarships are available as well, with eligibility questions built into the Kid Row participant application (due June 15). As a part of Craft Lake City’s DIY Festival Inclusion Program, these scholarships seek to provide the entire maker community with the support they need to creatively and economically thrive.
Craft Lake City is actively redefining the Artisan Scholarship and Mentor Program for the Virtual DIY Festival to include group virtual mentorship, financial assistance and online professional development training being made available to selected recipients. The STEM and Kid Row Scholarships are also being reimagined to succeed within the virtual framework.
