SALT LAKE CITY, June 10 – Craft Lake City, a 501(c3) charitable organization, announces today that Google Fiber will return as title sponsor for the STEM Building at the 8th Annual Craft Lake City Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Festival on Aug. 12–14, 2016.
Craft Lake City is dedicated to empowering DIY engineers interested in STEM-based (science, technology, engineering and math -based) work with educational opportunities, programming and opportunities to sell their products at the Craft Lake City DIY Festival and at other events and workshops throughout the year. DIY engineers include local tinkerers and small businesses, educational institutions, nonprofits and government institutions interested in showcasing technology and product ideas with an interactive exhibit for a local audience.

For the first time this year, Craft Lake City’s DIY Festival will extend over three days—Friday, Aug. 12 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 13 from noon to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 14 from noon to 7 p.m. The outdoor arts festival will include over 230 vendors specializing in handmade goods such as silk-screened posters, progressive crafts, DIY designs, reconstructed clothing, knitted items, jewelry, letter-pressed books and more, along with local musicians and performers, craft food vendors and the Google Fiber STEM Building which showcases the work and ideas of DIY engineers. The Festival will be held at the Gallivan Center in downtown Salt Lake City. Entry is $5 for adults, while children 12 and under get in for free. More information can be found at craftlakecity.com.
