This workshop is SOLD OUT. DIY Festival alumna Kassie Scribner of Lady Scrib is a professional art director and illustrator with a passion for lettering and embroidery. In this hands-on Craft Lake City workshop at Hip & Humble, Scribner will teach attendees to stitch a beautiful embroidered pendant necklace from a contemporary floral design.

Woven Wall Hanging

Learn the basics of lap loom weaving as you create your own woven wall hangings in this Craft Lake City workshop at West Elm! Instructor Danielle Susi will walk you through a step-by-step process for using yarn and textured fiber to create a piece you'll enjoy hanging in your home or gifting to a friend. Materials include a small wooden lap loom, weaving needle, yarn and other fibers, and a wooden dowel for hanging.

Natural Indigo Dye & Shibori Workshop

Presented by Craft Lake City and NHMU, this workshop will be taught by Amy Stephens of Root + Rise Botanicals. A specialist in natural wellness and herbal infusions, Stephens will demonstrate how to use natural dyes and fibers to create vibrant cloth products. Attendees will learn about the rich tradition of shibori, the Japanese art of manual resist dyeing using various folding techniques, and then dip and dye their own indigo hand towels. Amy Stephens is a local artisan specializing in natural wellness and herb-based creations. Her company, Root + Rise Botanicals, is a small batch personal care line that provides a vehicle for relaxation and connection to the natural world. Her herb-infused products include oils, balms, powders, and naturally dyed fibers.
