DIY Festival Applications Now Open

The 11th Annual Craft Lake City® DIY Festival® is an event by locals, for locals, celebrating all things local from Friday, August 9–Sunday, August 11. All Utah-based artisans, DIY engineers, foodies and performers are invited to apply to participate!

Embroidered and Beaded Brooches

In this stylish Craft Lake City workshop held at The Gallivan Center, local fiber artist Danielle Susi will teach attendees basic beading and embroidery skills. Participants will then put their new knowledge to use making their own custom embellished brooch to wear or share. Materials will be provided and no experience is necessary.

Craft Lake City is pleased to present another fun and flavor-filled workshop with talented craft foodie Ana Valdemoros of Argentina's Best Empanadas! Valdemoros started selling freshly baked empanadas at the Downtown Farmers Market in 2006. Ten years later she opened the popular Argentina’s Best Empanadas storefront in downtown Salt Lake City. In this workshop, Ana will teach attendees how to handcraft Argentine-style empanadas in two mouthwatering flavors: savory traditional beef and sweet apple dulce de leche. Materials will be provided for each attendee to make and enjoy one dozen empanadas.
