November 29, 2019- Craft Lake City is making it easy to shop local at their First Annual Craft Lake City Holiday Market in Ogden. Happening on Saturday, December 7th from 11a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Monarch located in Ogden’s Nine Rails Creative District on 455 25th St., this holiday market features Utah-based artisans from around the state including craft foodies, and food trucks.
Craft Lake City believes in educating the public about the importance of buying local and is enthusiastic about expanding their programming regionally—with this first-time event in Northern Utah.
LocalFirst.org states, “For every dollar spent in a locally owned business, $.55 stays right here in Utah. That’s four times more money than if that same dollar was spent at a national retailer.”
Keeping tax dollars in the economy is not the only reason to shop locally this Holiday season. There is value in getting to know your neighbors, encouraging creative innovation with your dollar and supporting an artist’s entrepreneurial dream.
“The thing I love most about Craft Lake City events is talking with artists at their booth,” says Shelbey Lang Artisan and Programs Manager for Craft Lake City. “That interaction creates a greater connection to the items I am purchasing.”
The First Annual Craft Lake City Holiday Market will showcase over eighty Utah based artists, many of whom are first-time participants. From jewelers to potters, painters to sculptors, and screen printers to soap makers there is something for everyone on your list.
Participating artists are listed on at craftlakecity.com/holiday-exhibitors.
