THE MATSUMOTO CRAFT FAIR

Matsumoto is known across Japan as a city of craft, and its biggest weekend proves it.

Every May, the Matsumoto Craft Fair fills Agata-no-Mori Park with artisans from across the country, all set against the backdrop of the Northern Alps.

As Japan’s oldest and largest craft fair, it’s a celebration of Matsumoto’s craft culture.

ABOUT THE SISTER CITY PROGRAM

Sister Cities is a longstanding program that places across the world participate in. The program started as an act of peace to prevent future wars. Through Sister Cities, paired-up cities can build long-lasting relationships through cultural exchanges. In these programs, the goal is to humanize one another, and what better way to do this than through art!
