  • Unhinged

Unhinged was created out of a strong sense of individuality and a “one of a kind” sensibility. I love making and curating items that are slightly off from the main, that create that feeling of specialness, but always with a sense of humor. We are the “Purveyors of the Oddly Beautiful” which pretty much sums it up. While our Be Kind motto is a great call to action we also love some snark in everyday life. Items, jargon, and images that make me laugh out loud are always something that I think needs to be shared. Repurposing and re-imagining vintage products adds an extra level of uniqueness as well. I hope you enjoy our “Oddly Beautiful” products as much as I enjoy finding and making them.

  • Utah Valkyrie

At the core of my soul I am a forager. I spent many years gathering experiences before I found all the pieces of myself. Now in my mid-forties I am as authentically myself as I have ever been. Out of those years of growth I have found creation to be an essential part of who I am. My current artistic endeavor is making light-weight jewelry. One of my techniques is not just inspired by nature but also actually made from nature. I forage local flora and fauna to create my pieces. I dry what I gather and paint resin on it to add stability. Individuality is demanded in this style of art and no two pieces are the same. As a wild child of the earth I also focus a lot on up-cycling. I forage for vintage tin boxes, antique postcards, and other fun materials and repurpose them into comfortable to wear jewelry pieces. The patterns on my up-cycled items are diverse and can give bohemian, art deco, retro, floral, and many other stylistic impressions. My style embraces the concept that earring pairs can be sisters and not twins, that style should be comfortable, and that true beauty is nature made.
