Emerging Artisans Invited to Grow their Businesses

Through a New Five-Week Training & Mentorship Program with Craft Lake City

Salt Lake City, UT – Craft Lake City is calling all emerging entrepreneurs, artisans, makers, creators, dreamers and doers to build their business skills and grow their creative ventures through The Craft Lake City Business Academy: Grow Your Business Plan, a five-week summer cohort program designed by makers, for makers. This virtual online course equips emerging entrepreneurs with the support and skills they need to successfully overcome obstacles and enable a strategic growth plan to launch their creative business.

Classes consist of weekly work sessions, homework assignments, virtual discussions and mentorship by successful Utah business owners. Training sessions will be held on Zoom on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-8 p.m. from May 27 – June 29, 2021, with a check-in meeting on July 15 and a celebratory wrap-up event on August 31.

Business Academy students will learn how to build a brand, sell handmade products online and in-person, manage inventory and finances, master customer service and much more. The course will guide students through the process of building an effective growth strategy by creating a business plan based on a product launch at the 13th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival Presented By Harmons. Course attendees are encouraged, but not required, to participate in the DIY Festival (separate application and fees apply) and students will have the option to base their business plan and course work around another launch date of their choice.
