Google Fiber Continues Sponsorship of the STEM Building at the 15th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival Presented By Harmons

Craft Lake City is thrilled to announce Google Fiber’s continued sponsorship of the STEM Building at the 15th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival Presented By Harmons. This marks the tenth consecutive year of Google Fiber’s support for this fan favorite feature area at the Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival. Utah is home to amazing science, tech, engineering and math (STEM) creativity, and it is a fundamental part of Craft Lake City’s mission statement to showcase all the coolest, most inspirational and cutting edge ideas coming to life throughout Utah. It is with great honor that Craft Lake City works towards this goal with the help of Google Fiber!

The 15th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival Presented By Harmons, taking place on Friday, August 11, Saturday, August 12 and Sunday August 13, 2023, will feature over 350 local artisans & vintage vendors, dozens of foodies, over 50 youth entrepreneurs, over 40 performers & over 40 STEM exhibitors over three days at the Utah State Fairpark. The Google Fiber STEM Building, a beloved feature of the DIY Fest, brings together over 40 Utah DIY engineers, scientists, tech hobbyists, tinkerers, major research institutions, & local businesses while offering engaging demos & all-ages hands-on activities for festival-goers.

The Google Fiber STEM Building even offers a DIY water rocket launch activity for festival goers of all ages, as well as free educational content from our special partners like the STEM Action Center and Red Butte Gardens.

“Craft Lake City’s STEM programming continues to expand—teaching concepts like rocketry to Title I elementary schools and bringing new avenues of creativity to all ages through STEM Labs workshops. These year-round efforts and growth wouldn’t be possible without the support of Google Fiber as our long-term DIY Fest STEM building partner,” says Lyndi Perry, Craft Lake City’s STEM Coordinator. “This building has empowered youth volunteers, highlighted fascinating businesses, and uplifted official researchers and backyard scientists alike. We absolutely have Google Fiber to thank for building these connections and supporting DIY STEM for all Utahns!”
