Salt Lake City, UT – Craft Lake City is looking for volunteers to help with our Second Annual Craft Lake City Holiday Market! This year, we are thrilled to announce TWO ways to volunteer for the festive event: an in-person market and an online market with artisan profiles and virtual meetups! Interested community members can complete this brief application to volunteer with Craft Lake City this holiday season.
“We are so excited to host our Annual Holiday Market in two unique forms this season,” says Craft Lake City Volunteer Coordinator Tara Olson. “The success of the Virtual DIY Festival this year let us know we have a strong, tech-savvy volunteer team ready to assist remotely. However, many of our volunteers still look forward to helping in-person and we are so excited to offer both online and in-person volunteer opportunities this holiday season.”
The Online Craft Lake City Holiday Market runs from Nov. 1-30. This fun and seasonal online market will encourage retail sales through dynamic exhibitor profiles (with a brand new web design!) and two live virtual meetups. We are looking for volunteers to help remotely by joining our bright, dynamic and committed team of online volunteers.
Volunteers are needed to help throughout the month of November as Volunteer Copy Editors, acting as a fresh pair of eyes, spotting any grammar mistakes or questionable content matter on the Craft Lake City website. We are also looking for volunteers to assist with our two live virtual events taking place on Fri. Nov. 6 and Fri. Nov. 20 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m at craftlakecity.com. Helping remotely, volunteers will monitor the platform and provide navigational assistance to attendees during the live meetup events, ensuring that the interactive online environment remains a fun, inclusive and safe. “As a non-profit, Craft Lake City needs and values the continued support of our volunteer team,” explains Volunteer Coordinator Tara Olson. “We realize for many of our volunteers, helping in-person is not an option due to safety risks or other limitations. We are hoping that by providing an online alternative, these volunteers can continue to show support for our organization.”
Additionally, we are excited to return to The Monarch in Ogden’s Nine Rails Creative District to produce the Second Annual Craft Lake City Holiday Market! Now a two-day event, our in-person market will be held on Fri., Dec. 4 from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. and Sat., Dec. 5 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Although the Second Annual Craft Lake City Holiday Market is a two day event for the public, a new set of exhibitors will load in and load out each day of the market. Volunteers are needed in-person to offer a huge service – helping artisans with moving their work into designated booth areas. Without volunteers to help with artisan load in, our exhibitors wouldn’t be able to showcase their amazing work and would spend countless hours moving their products themselves.
We also will be offering volunteer opportunities during the event assisting with coat check, safety enforcers positions, flex volunteers, and production setup/takedown for those volunteers that prefer a more behind-the-scenes role. To learn more about in-person volunteer opportunities, click here.
Craft Lake City is taking careful precautions to create a safe environment for makers, attendees, staff and volunteers based on governmental covid-19 guidelines. Masks will be required to be worn by all attendees, staff, participants and volunteers during the in-person event.
To sign up to volunteer for either the in-person or online Holiday Market, simply fill out this brief application and kick the holidays off by doing something charitable this season!
