  • Animal Control Officers are responding to calls for sick and injured animals, and once animals (after the extended stray/wait period) are going to rescues or foster homes, until they can find a new home.
  • Donations: If you’d like to help keep the pets busy at the shelter while they wait to return to their owner or get adopted, visit their  Amazon Wishlists for Dogs, Cats, and Rabbits. Or name the shelter as your charitable organization with WoofTrax, an app that gives dog owners the chance to earn donations for their favorite local animal organization just by walking their dog.
  • May 1: Kitten Foster Training & Orientation, 4:00-5:00 p.m. online. After you sign up, they will send out more information on how to take part in the training. Fosters must be 18 years-old. Click here to register.
  • May 2: Free dry dog and cat food for pet owners in need, 10:00 a.m., while supplies last. Curbside pickup only at 511 W. 3900 S., South Salt Lake.

  • April 20: Craft Lake City Mask Drive, 11a-1p at Craft Lake City offices, 351 W. Pierpont Ave., SLC. Drop off masks, either handmade or purchased, which in turn will be donated to Shelter the Homeless and Catholic Community Services of Utah for the Gail Miller Homeless Resource Center and the 200 individuals nightly who are currently experiencing homelessness. Alison Einerson of the Downtown SLC Farmers Market. Due to coronavirus, the summer market will look different come opening day, June 13, at Pioneer Park. In addition to reduced hours of 8a-12p, the market will scale back to farmers, ranchers and food producers. No art market or food trucks, a significant revenue stream.
