Craft Lake City is proud to host around fifty artisan workshops each year. Craft Lake City partners with local venues to provide these in-person crafting opportunities in a variety of fun and atmospheric settings. Take a workshop to perfect a skill, kick-start a new hobby, meet like-minded people and support the local maker movement!

Punch Needle Embroidery Workshop

Join us for a fun-filled evening of punch needle embroidery with Larissa and Julie of local fiber arts studio Plum Diddle, back by popular demand! In this workshop, you’ll learn all you need to know to successfully start your punch needle embroidery journey and create your own beautiful wall hanging. Follow along step by step as you transform yarn and fabric into a stunning piece of art! This class is the perfect place for bffs, couples & anyone looking to try their hand at a new craft! All materials are provided & beginners are welcome.
Watercolor Landscape Workshop (21+)

Learn the basics of watercolor & landscapes then create a vibrant watercolor landscape painting taught by local artist Nancy Andruk Olson of Brighter Day Pigments! In this beginner-friendly class, you will learn a variety of techniques for using watercolors, then apply them to create a vintage postcard-style landscape painting. You will have the option to bring a landscape photo of your choosing or use one provided by Nancy. By the end of the class, you will leave with the knowledge you need to watercolor all your favorite scenes and a finished landscape painting!
All materials are provided & beginners are welcome. Included in the purchase price of the workshop ticket, attendees will have the option to enjoy a signature cocktail sponsored by St Germain (or non-alcoholic mocktail!) at Alibi Bar & Place, handcrafted with care by Alibi’s talented bartenders. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to purchase additional beverages during the class if they so choose. This workshop is a 21+ event so make sure to bring a valid government-issued ID.

About the New American Workshop Series: With support from the Salt Lake City Arts Council, this workshop series consists of 6 craft classes taught by New American makers from around the world who have made Utah their home. Whether they be refugees, immigrants or children of immigrants, these instructors will share and teach the process behind their art form while attendees learn of the craft’s cultural significance.
About Craft Lake City STEM Labs: If you’ve been to Craft Lake City’s Annual DIY Fest, you’ve no doubt seen the high-tech offerings in the Google Fiber STEM Building. Now we’re bringing that same energy to year-round workshop programming with STEM Labs! Join us for this series of curiosity-oriented makers workshops aimed at connecting science, technology, engineering & math to our established arts & crafts based programming. STEM Labs are designed to make STEM topics approachable, accessible & empowering to people of all ages and backgrounds.
