  • Executive Assistant
    Craft Lake City® is looking for an Executive Assistant to support our Executive Director. The Craft Lake City Executive Assistant is passionate about elevating Utah’s creative community. This self-motivated individual excels at managing details, preparing financial documents, creating spreadsheets, reports, letters, invoices and other supportive documents. Individual should desire to join a committed team to achieve Craft Lake City’s nonprofit mission.

    Responsibilities:
    -Assist Executive Director
    -Basic bookkeeping
    -Perform a variety of administrative support (screening phone calls & emails, sending thank-you cards, filing/organizing documents, taking notes, assisting with payroll, etc.)
    -Sponsorship outreach on behalf of the Executive Director
    -Proposal creation
    -Calendar management
    -Run errands for the organization as needed

    -Prepare documents for review and presentation by, boards of directors, committees, and Executive Director

    This is a year-round, part-time, contract position with a weekly time commitment 10–20 hours per week, which begins immediately upon hiring. Weekly time commitments will increase in July and August leading up to the 12th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival on August 6, 7 and 8.

  • Social Media Coordinator
    Craft Lake City’s Social Media Coordinator is collaborative, interested in local DIY culture, passionate about the nonprofit arts sector, and has a gift for creating clear and creative messaging for diverse audiences. The Social Media Coordinator will become intimately familiar with Craft Lake City’s programming, and will continually innovate and improve upon our ability to create mission-driven communications that resonate with the community. The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for social media efforts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter on behalf of Craft Lake City-- they will also create blog content and oversee the organizations’ e-newsletter.

    Responsibilities:
    - Overseeing social media and blog content on behalf of Craft Lake City
    - Manage a social media schedule and pre-plan content
    - Update and create content for the Craft Lake City Blog
    - Represent the organization via online networking groups and forums to help spread the word about our events and mission
    -Attend Craft Lake City events to create “live” content & compile content for postings
    - Focus on finding ways to increase our organic reach on all platforms
    - Create social media content as needed
    - Coordinating Craft Lake City’s monthly e-newsletter
    - Stay current with social media best practices, algorithms, etc.

    Qualifications:
    - Experienced in building followers on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook
    - Content creation skills: graphic design, photography, videography, and/or video editing
    - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    - A passion for writing and creative storytelling

  • DIY Festival Kids' Area Coordinator
    Craft Lake City’s DIY Festival Kids’ Area Coordinator is responsible for programming the Kids’ Area to ensure a fun, creative and educational experience for kids and families during the DIY Festival. This team member is passionate about youth arts education, and is creative, collaborative, friendly, leadership-driven and organized. The DIY Festival Kids’ Area Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and DIY Festival Project Coordinator.

    Responsibilities:


    -Create a plan for decor in the Kids’ Area and work with volunteers to make the decorations
    -Recruit, train and manage volunteers, in conjunction with the DIY Festival Volunteer Coordinator,-who will assist in the Kids’ Area
    -Collaborate with the DIY Festival Inventory Manager to determine what supplies and tools will be needed in the Kids’ Area
    -Create and execute a plan for managing the bounce house and other entertainment in Kids’ Area, including recruiting contractors/volunteers to ensure coverage of all Kid’s Area activities.
    -Manage all aspects of the Kids’ Area during the DIY Festival, including setup, breakdown, and assisting volunteers and staff as needed
    -Work with Kids’ Area Sponsor to ensure their promotion and participation goals are met

    Qualifications:
    -2 years of management experience
    -Experience working with children of all ages, in art education, and/or family programming preferred
    -Event coordination and crowd management experience desired

  • DIY Festival VIP Lounge Coordinator
    Craft Lake City is looking for a DIY Festival VIP Lounge Coordinator to produce and manage a one-of-a-kind VIP lounge space at our Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival while working with our title sponsor. This team member will have proven customer service skills and the know-how to merchandise a small space creatively. The DIY Festival VIP Lounge Coordinator will have the opportunity to work with a supportive team of individuals to create a unique festival experience for our community and interact with wonderful Festival volunteers.

    This is a spring/summer seasonal, part-time, contract position with a weekly time commitment of up to 5 hours, which will be determined upon hiring. Weekly time commitments will increase in June, July and August leading up to the Craft Lake City DIY Festival on August 7-9. The DIY Festival VIP Lounge Coordinator is required to be onsite for the duration of the DIY Festival, working long hours in extreme heat are factors you should consider and keep in mind when applying for this position.

  • DIY Festival Inventory Coordinator
    Craft Lake City is looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Coordinator to oversee supply management and purchasing for Craft Lake City’s Annual DIY Festival. This person has a vision for organizing and accounting for all festival supplies and materials, and is no stranger to budgeting. The Inventory Manager has the opportunity to get to know and work with all of the wonderful festival crew, working collaboratively to itemize and put together all the necessary supplies, both big and small, for the DIY Festival.

    This is a spring/summer seasonal, part-time, contract position with a weekly time commitment of 1-5 hours, which begin immediately upon hiring. Weekly time commitments will increase in mid-June, July and August leading up to the Craft Lake City DIY Festival on August 7-9. The Inventory Manager is required to be on-site for the duration of the DIY Festival from setup to take down, so working long hours in extreme heat are factors you should consider and keep in mind when applying for this position.

    Training will be provided.

    Responsibilities:
    -Work with DIY Festival Department heads to determine supply and inventory needs
    -Collaborate with Craft Lake City staff to develop and monitor supply budget for each DIY Festival department
    -Research supply and shipping costs to identify the most cost-effective option
    -Assist DIY festival department heads with ordering and packing supplies, as needed
    -Maintain and update the master inventory spreadsheets to track all supplies
    -Organize and maintain inventory headquarters on-site at the festival
    -Oversee the checkout and return of equipment and supplies on-site at the DIY Festival
    -Manage staff member check-in daily, including the renting of radios
    -Assist in the successful relocation of items back to the Craft Lake City headquarters and vendors after the completion of the festival
    -Oversee the organization of inventory at Craft Lake City headquarters post-event, including the updating of supply lists

    Qualifications:
    -Has at least 2 years experience in a management or leadership position, and if you have experience specifically with inventory management and/or purchasing that is a plus

  • Community Events Assistant
    The Community Events Assistant will be responsible for the support and/or on-site coordination of outreach events in communities throughout Utah. Craft Lake City’s Community Event Assistant is interested in the local maker movement, is familiar with Craft Lake City’s programs and mission, and has a passion for sales and event management. The Community Event Assistant will serve as a public ambassador for Craft Lake City, and will work to ensure a positive experience for community event attendees and partners.

    Responsibilities
    -Serving as a representative and ambassador of Craft Lake City at various community outreach events during the year
    -Setting up and breaking down Craft Lake City’s table or booth in each venue
    -Interacting with the public to promote Craft Lake City programs
    -Selling Craft Lake City merchandise and tickets to meet internal sales goals
    -Coordinating craft activities for the public at certain community events
    -Managing volunteers as necessary
    -Maintaining a clean and organized area during the event
    -Sending images and info to CLC’s social media manager during the event
    -Returning all event supplies to CLC headquarters
    -Providing photos from the outreach event to CLC
    -Assisting with post-event reporting as needed

    The Community Workshop Assistant will be responsible for the on-site coordination of hands-on craft workshops in communities throughout Utah. Craft Lake City’s Community Workshop Assistant is interested in the local maker movement, is familiar with Craft Lake City’s programs and mission, and has a passion for arts education and event management. The Community Workshop Assistant will serve as a public ambassador for Craft Lake City, and will work to ensure a positive, professional and educational experience for workshop instructors, attendees and venue partners.

    Responsibilities:
    -Serving as a representative and ambassador of Craft Lake City at various community craft workshops during the year
    -Fostering positive relationships with workshop instructors and venue partners
    -Setting up and breaking down the workshop area in each venue in collaboration with venue contact and instructor
    -Assisting workshop instructor with supply load-in, set-up and load-out
    -Verifying workshop ticket holders upon arrival
    -Selling tickets to waitlist participants as necessary
    -Providing presentations to attendees about Craft Lake City and upcoming programs
    -Maintaining a clean and organized workshop area during the program

    -Coordinating attendee surveys at the end of each workshop

  • Event Production Assistant
    Craft Lake City is looking for DIY Festival Production Assistants who will work as a team to set up and tear down the Craft Lake City DIY Festival. The Production Assistant is expected to remain on-site for key dates in the production schedule and to be on-call for troubleshooting issues and supporting the Festival team throughout the Festival dates. The Production Assistant will also have a great chance to work with a supportive team of individuals that allow Craft Lake City to create a unique festival for our community and interact with wonderful Festival volunteers.

    This is a contract, festival-specific position with a commitment of working August 3-11, 2020, with additional preparation shifts in the 2-4 weeks prior to the festival. The DIY Festival Production Assistant is required to be onsite for the duration of the DIY Festival, so working long hours in potentially extreme heat are factors to consider and keep in mind when applying for this position.

  • Artisan & Programs Intern
    Craft Lake City is looking for a new volunteer intern to join our office team. This volunteer intern will support the Craft Lake City Artisan & Programs Manager and other key staff members with the daily operations of the organization. The intern should have an interest in the local maker movement, familiarity with Craft Lake City’s programs and mission, and a desire to gain experience in nonprofit arts administration and event support.

    Intern Title: Artisan & Programs Intern
    Department: Programming
    Reports to: Artisan & Programs Manager
    Commitment: One year, 10 hours/week

    Year-Round Responsibilities
    -Support Craft Lake City management and staff with a variety of daily tasks, including data entry, correspondence, report drafting and event preparation.
    -Update online community calendars with upcoming CLC events each month.
    -Scan artisan paperwork and file into appropriate online folders.
    -Prepare post-event reports for venue partners, grants and sponsors.
    -Digitize survey responses from community events and workshops.
    -Assist with counting, organizing, and preparing supplies for CLC events.
    -Draft thank-you notes and other correspondence.
    -Serve as a public representative of Craft Lake City at select events, assisting with setting up and breaking down as needed.
    -Assist with creating event-related graphics for social media use.

    DIY Festival Responsibilities
    -Support Artisan & Program Manager with outreach and application follow-up.
    -Provide assistance for related trainings and programs, including support for RSVPs, nametags, meeting materials, checklists, inventory, etc.
    -Update exhibitor profiles on the website with cancellations and replacements.
    -Attend the DIY Festival as a Craft Lake City volunteer team member (Aug 4-11 2020), assisting as needed.

Marketing Team members play a critical role by helping to educate the public about Craft Lake City and its programs. Team members attend regular Marketing Team meetings and trainings and participate in events throughout the year. Duties may include assisting with table/booth setup, staffing the booth to represent Craft Lake City and educate others, and working with the public to create make-and-take crafts.

Don’t feel you have the time to be a part of the Craft Lake City Marketing Team? Craft Lake City is always looking for volunteers to help with a variety of things throughout the year, and you can still assist with some of our outreach events by being paired up with a Marketing Team volunteer.
