  • Artisan & Program Coordinator
    Craft Lake City is looking for an Artisan & Programs Coordinator to join our office team. This position will support the Craft Lake City Artisan & Programs Manager and other key staff members with the daily operations of the organization. The applicant should have an interest in the local maker movement, familiarity with Craft Lake City’s programs and mission, and a desire to gain experience in nonprofit arts administration and event support.

    This is a part-time, contract position with a weekly time commitment of 20 hours, which begins immediately upon hiring. Weekly time commitments will increase in June, July and August leading up to the Craft Lake City DIY Festival on August 6-8. 2021. The Artisan & Programming Coordinator is required to be on-site for the duration of the DIY Festival, so working long hours in extreme heat are factors you should consider and keep in mind when applying for this position.

    Responsibilities
    Year-Round
    -Support Craft Lake City management and staff with a variety of daily tasks, including data entry, correspondence, office and file organization, report drafting and event preparation.
    -Scan artisan paperwork and file into appropriate online folders.
    -Prepare post-event reports for venue partners, grants and sponsors.
    -Digitize survey responses from community events and workshops.
    -Assist with counting, organizing, and preparing supplies for CLC events.
    -Supporting the Craft Lake City team with DIY kits and supply boxes, including creation, inventory management and customer service.
    -Draft thank-you notes and other correspondence.
    -Serve as a public representative of Craft Lake City at select events, both virtual and in-person, assisting with setting up and breaking down as needed.
    -Assist with creating event-related graphics for social media use.
    -Support Craft Lake City team with artisan outreach as directed, including conducting research, attending events and contacting potential participants for programs and events.
    DIY FESTIVAL
    -Support Artisan & Program Manager with artisan outreach and application follow-up.
    -Provide assistance for related training and programs, including support for RSVPs, nametags, meeting materials, checklists, inventory, etc.
    -Update exhibitor profiles on the website with cancellations and replacements.
    -Attend the DIY Festival as a Craft Lake City team member (Aug 6-9 2021), assisting as needed with set up, on-site coordination, and breakdown.

    -Maturity and ability to professionally represent Craft Lake City
    -Desire to help with tasks ranging from data entry to in-person event support
    -Comfortable building relationships with artisans on the phone, via email, on social media and in-person

  • STEM Program Coordinator
    Craft Lake City is a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate, promote and inspire local artisans while elevating the creative culture of the Utah arts community through science, technology and art. Craft Lake City's flagship event is the Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival held each year in August. We also offer year-round programming that includes workshops, exhibitions and other special events.

    The Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Program Coordinator will be responsible for the oversight and execution of all STEM programming within the organization, which includes overseeing the STEM Building at the Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival, producing STEM Nights for title-one elementary schools in conjunction with local school districts, working with the Craft Lake City Team to coordinate and produce STEM Workshops or videos and other year-round programming. This is a part-time, contract position with a weekly time commitment of 10-15 hours, with increased hours during peak events and leading up to the DIY Festival.


    Responsibilities:
    -Curate, coordinate and manage the Google Fiber STEM Building at the Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival.
    -Outreach to potential STEM Exhibitors
    -Oversee STEM Exhibitor application process, including assisting potential exhibitors with completing their applications, ensuring that all deadlines are communicated and met, and application fees are properly processed. Coordinate STEM Exhibitors pre-Festival, during Festival and post Festival
    -Oversee layout of the STEM Building
    -Coordinate STEM programming inside of the STEM Building, included but not limited to community workshops and the Craft Lake City STEM crafts
    -Work with Executive Director to maintain STEM Building programming within Festival budget
    -Monitor invoicing and payments of STEM exhibitors for all participation fees
    -Work closely with sponsors exhibiting in the STEM Building.
    -Curate and manage community STEM educational outreach and programming with Title 1 schools.
    -Coordinate STEM programming, including hands-on activities at community events
    -Work with sponsors regarding outreach and funding opportunities
    -Maintain communication with STEM contacts and build new partnerships and relationships to strengthen the mission of Craft Lake City

    Qualifications:
    -Demonstrated experience working with science and education organizations and others in the STEM education field.
    -Keeps abreast of developments, research, and new technology in the STEM field.
    -Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    -Ability to prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines
    -Organized and efficient in ability to document, manage, monitor and track data.
    -Experience with workflow and information management tools such as Google Drive, Asana, Slack or Airtable a plus
    -Collaborative, friendly and team-oriented

    Requirements:
    -Ability to work 10-15 hours per week, with the flexibility of an increase of hours during peak times. Daily check-in required during peak hiring season
    -Ability to work extended hours at the DIY Festival from August 6-8, 2021

  • Community Workshop Assistant

    The Community Workshop Assistant will be responsible for the on-site coordination of both hands-on or virtual craft workshops in communities throughout Utah. Craft Lake City’s Community Workshop Assistant is interested in the local maker movement, is familiar with Craft Lake City’s programs and mission, and has a passion for arts education and event management. The Community Workshop Assistant will serve as a public ambassador for Craft Lake City, and will work to ensure a positive, professional and educational experience for workshop instructors, attendees and venue partners.

    Responsibilities:
    -Serving as a representative and ambassador of Craft Lake City at various community craft workshops during the year
    -Fostering positive relationships with workshop instructors and venue partners
    -Setting up and breaking down the workshop area in each venue in collaboration with venue contact and instructor
    -Assisting workshop instructor with supply load-in, set-up and load-out
    -Verifying workshop ticket holders upon arrival (in-person workshops)
    -Selling tickets to waitlist participants as necessary
    -Providing presentations to attendees about Craft Lake City and upcoming programs
    -Maintaining a clean and organized workshop area during the program
    -Supporting attendees and instructors during each workshop as needed
    -Posting to social media during and after the workshop
    -Coordinating attendee surveys at the end of each workshop
    -Returning workshop supplies to Craft Lake City headquarters
    -Providing photos from the workshop to Craft Lake City
    -Adding workshop responses to online form
    -Completing post-event workshop assistant online form
    -Assisting with post-event reporting as needed

    Qualifications:
    -Prior experience with event management
    -Prior experience or willingness to learn and master online meeting platforms (Google Meet, Zoom, etc.)
    -Experience in arts programming preferred
    -Exceptional organizational, stress management and customer service skills
    -Ability to adapt and be flexible and collaborative in an event-driven, nonprofit environment
    -Ability to access email each day and respond in a timely manner
    -Proficient with Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.

    Requirements:
    -Must attend required meetings and production training
    -Must be able to commit to work the public hours of the workshops with additional setup and teardown specific to each program
    -Must have your own laptop and vehicle and willingness to use for workshop-related tasks
    -Must be comfortable troubleshooting technical issues, while simultaneously addressing attendees.

  • Public Relations Intern
    Craft Lake City® is looking for a Public Relations intern to assist with press coordination/promotion and marketing efforts on behalf of Craft Lake City including our
    Second Annual Craft Lake City Holiday Market.

    The PR Intern position will play a key role in the continued growth and success of the organization. Working with the Craft Lake City Team you will support key communications functions such as public relations and content creation to help achieve our vision. This individual excels at implementing strategic publicity plans, providing innovative ideas, drafting press releases and other creative messaging for diverse audiences.The PR Intern will become intimately familiar with Craft Lake City’s programming, and will continually work as a member of the team to collaboratively innovate and improve upon our ability to create mission-driven communications and strategy that resonate with the community.

    Responsibilities:
    -Implementing short-term and long-term communication strategies that meet organizational goals
    -Identifying opportunities to promote Craft Lake City and its programs to target audiences and media outlets
    -Following the Craft Lake City brand style guide for consistent messaging and branding.
    -Collecting and managing data and statistics that measure the success of communication efforts
    -Drafting and distributing press releases and media alerts
    -Updating and creating content for the Craft Lake City website
    -Assisting in the production of Craft Lake City’s printed and digital promotional materials (brochures, videos, flyers, etc.) as needed
    -Identifying new ways to engage with Salt Lake City’s communities.
    -Contributing to Craft Lake City’s interaction with clients, the media, and the general public

    Qualifications:
    -The ideal candidate will be a junior or senior pursuing a degree in Marketing or Communication.
