Overview: Craft Lake City’s Social Media Internships provide prospective digital marketers and journalists with professional experience. From learning the fundamentals of social media strategy and market research to content creation and community engagement, Craft Lake City offers Social Media Interns the opportunity to be part of a non-profit organization that works to educate, promote and inspire local artisans while elevating the creative culture of the Utah arts community through science, technology and art. Craft Lake City fosters a highly skilled, creative, energized and empowered team. This is a year long, volunteer internship position.
Reports to: Executive Director and Artisan & Programs Manager
Commitment: One year, 10 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and schedule social media posts across platforms
- Ensure messaging aligns with brand style guidelines
- Brainstorm and develop social media campaigns and content ideas
- Assist with pitching, editing, and posting video and photo content
- Engage with the online community via social media, Tidio, and voicemails
- Track social media metrics and prepare monthly reports
- Add Craft Lake City events to community calendars
- Collaborate on strategy, content calendars, and promotions
- Support digital campaigns with marketing and design teams
- Cover live events and create real-time social content
- Assist with content planning for major events (LetterWest, DIY Festival, Holiday Market)
- Support miscellaneous marketing, events, and social media tasks
Qualifications

Position Overview
Craft Lake City is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Graphic Designer to support the visual identity and marketing needs of the organization. This role plays a key part in elevating Craft Lake City’s programs, events, and brand through thoughtful, on-brand design across print, digital, web, and video platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about local arts and DIY culture, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is excited to build on Craft Lake City’s established brand while also contributing fresh, innovative ideas.
This is a part-time, contract position averaging 25 hours per week, with increased hours during peak planning periods for LetterWest, the Annual DIY Festival, and the Holiday Market.
Key Responsibilities
- Brand & Visual Design
- Design on-brand visual assets for print and digital use, including marketing materials, event signage, social media graphics, programs, and promotional collateral.
- Build upon Craft Lake City’s established brand identity while also contributing new, fresh, and creative visual ideas, incorporating feedback and making design revisions as needed to meet organizational goals.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Operations Coordinator to develop, maintain, and evolve design guidelines, templates, and best practices.
- Web, Digital & Video Content
- Design and update website graphics and layouts in alignment with Craft Lake City’s brand and messaging.
- Create short-form video content for social media and digital marketing (e.g., reels, stories, event promos).
- Develop and adapt assets for multiple platforms, ensuring consistency across web, social, email, and print.
- Assist with the creation of social media graphics and digital content using tools such as Canva when appropriate.
- Marketing & Communications Support
- Create visual assets to support marketing campaigns, ticket sales, and community engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate with staff to translate program needs and event details into clear, compelling visual storytelling.
- Project Coordination
- Coordinate with outside vendors, printers, and creative partners to execute design projects.
- Manage multiple design requests and deadlines, especially during peak event seasons.
- Attend weekly and/or bi-weekly staff meetings to align on priorities and timelines.

Position Overview
Craft Lake City is hiring for an Artisan & Programs Manager. This position will lead Craft Lake City’s Artisan and Programs Department including: year-round and seasonal programming efforts, program communications, manage Programming Department Team (Programs Administrator, Programs Assistant, Programs Intern) and support key staff members as needed with the daily operations of the organization.
The applicant should be interested in the local maker movement, familiar with Craft Lake City’s programs and mission and love project management. This position requires strong leadership, project management and communications skills. Experience in nonprofit arts administration, programming and event management preferred.
This is a full-time contract position. The weekly time commitment is 45 hours, which begins immediately upon hiring. Weekly time commitments increase as needed, leading up to the Annual Craft Lake City LetterWest, DIY Festival and Holiday Market. The Artisan & Programs Manager is required to be on-site for the duration of LetterWest, the DIY Festival and the Holiday Market, so working long event hours in the heat (DIY Festival) and cold (LetterWest and Holiday Market) are factors applicants should consider when applying for this position.
Responsibilities
1. Programming:
1.1. Craft Workshops:
- Oversee the curation of dozens of community-based craft workshops per year
- Verify timelines, budgets and agreements
- Support Programs Administrator to execute craft workshops on-site
- Support the Programs Administrator in recruiting, hiring, training and paying instructors
- Assist the Programs Administrator in training, managing and scheduling a team of workshop assistants
1.2. Business Academy:
- Work with the Executive Director to design and execute professional development courses and opportunities for local creatives
- Collaborate with local experts, partners and established makers to develop curriculum and content
- Coordinate Business Academy classes virtually and/or in-person
- Work with Programs team to manage on-site classes
1.3. Metal Frames:
- Curate and coordinate outdoor exhibitions (Celebration of the Hand and Local Voices)
- Collaborate with Programs Administrator to meet program goals and deadlines
- Manage project partnerships, timelines, installation and agreements
- Collaborate with artists, sponsors, partners and representatives from local organizations
- Collaborate with Programs Administrator to coordinate exhibition walks and discussions, virtually or in-person
1.3. Youth Entrepreneur Program:
- Collaborate with Programs Administrator on curation and execution of afterschool YAE programming
- Recruit, hire train and pay artisan instructors
- Maintain and grow relationships program partners
2. Events:
2.1. Annual DIY Festival and Holiday Market
- Manage exhibitor applications
- Lead recruitment and outreach efforts all categories
- Oversee jurying process for all applicants
- Plan, promote and execute Application Assistance Days
- Manage participant profiles on the CLC website
- Manage exhibitor placement including special placement, drop outs, replacements and load-in/load-out planning—before, during and after event
- Prepare materials needed for the events such as maps, exhibitor materials, signage needs, badges etc.
- Assist CLC team with setup and breakdown for the DIY Festival, including equipment, signage and artisan load-in process
- Train and support on-site Zone Managers, Workshop Assistants, Volunteers and other teamsters on-site
- Serve as on-site Exhibitor Manager and provide excellent customer service to all participating artisans, troubleshooting problems and elevating major issues when needed
- Collaborate with the programs team on elements of Craft Lake City’s Unity Initiative, including Application Fee Support, Application Assistance Days, Scholarship & Mentor Program, Sponsored Entrepreneur Program, Sponsored Families Program
- Commit to working the 18th Annual DIY Festival Presented By Harmons (Aug 7-9, 2026) and the Eighth Annual Holiday Market (Dec.4-5, 2026)
2.2. Annual LetterWest
- Manage and coordinate the presenters and workshop instructors
- Review presentations and evaluate needs for the day of event
- Prepare workshop materials and supplies
- Prepare materials needed for the events such as maps, workshop materials, signage needs, badges etc
- Assist CLC team with setup and breakdown for LetterWest, including equipment, signage and artisan load-in process
- Commit to working the Annual LetterWest (April 10-11, 2026)
3. Management:
- Manage Programming Department Team (Programs Administrator, Programs Assistant, Programs Intern) to successfully execute all programming projects and communications
- Report weekly to the Executive Director setting deadlines and set expectations
- Update yearly budgets for all programs
- Support Operations Department in hiring as needed
- Management of program-related communications, including e-blasts, press releases, social strategy and posting, photo shotlists, etc.
4. Other Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Craft Lake City Executive Director to identify programming goals and realize new programs
- Work with the Development Coordinator to provide data for grant applications and reports
- Work with the Operations Department to ensure programming on the organization’s website is current and up-to-date
- Work closely with Craft Lake City board members on various initiatives and present at board meetings as needed
- Support CLC team members with a variety of daily tasks and projects as needed

- Ability to bring your thoughts and ideas to the table in a constructive manner, and open to receiving constructive criticism on your own work
- Comfortable with technology and excited to learn and implement the latest technologies
- Proficient with Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, social media.
- Wordpress and website management preferred
