In support of our mission to elevate Utah’s creative community through science, technology and art, Craft Lake City offers DIY workshops taught by some of Utah’s most skilled artisans and STEM professionals. Several workshops are available in a convenient pre-recorded online format, so you can create anytime, anywhere. Additionally, you can connect with local makers and other community members through in-person workshops at our new venue partner: Valley Fair Mall!

In-Person Craft Workshops

Craft Lake City’s in-person workshops are back! We are thrilled to safely return to our community craft workshop programming in summer 2021. Craft Lake City will be hosting outdoor workshops at as part of a new venue partnership with Valley Fair Mall! Head to the link above to join us for a workshop every month between June and September. Live Streaming Video Craft Workshops

Just because we’re social distancing doesn’t mean we can’t socialize! Craft Lake City is hosting a limited number of Live Streaming Video Workshops with top local makers. Without leaving the comfort of home, you can meet other community members, follow along on Zoom and interact with our talented instructors as they introduce you to new creative projects and processes. Supply kits are available to be picked up during specific times at the Craft Lake City offices in advance.



Pre-Recorded Online Craft Workshops

Enjoy your favorite Craft Lake City workshops anytime, anywhere with our pre-recorded online workshop series! Engage your creativity, start a new hobby, and get insider tips from talented makers and experts. Perfect for beginners or creatives looking to add a new skill to their maker toolbox. Limited edition supply boxes can be purchased separately for many of the workshops if you don’t have the materials at home.



Pre-Recorded Online STEM Workshops for Kids

Craft Lake City and Google Fiber are pleased to present a six-part STEM Kids Online Workshop video series, produced to support Utah elementary schools in their remote learning efforts. We used the state curriculum guidelines for grades 3-5 to guide our selection of topics, focused on activities which can be done at home. Additional support was provided from the Utah STEM Action Center. Watch the pre-recorded videos today!



DIY Kits

Craft Lake City partnered with some of your favorite local artisans to curate fun DIY Kits! Each kit includes the supplies and written instructions to complete a fun, hands-on craft project at home. Some of the kit projects include a felt sloth wall hanging, robot ornaments, concrete planters, and constellations for kids. We’ll also have embroidered keychains and clay jewelry kits coming up soon! Supplies are limited, so get them while you can. Free domestic shipping or curbside pickup included!



Craft Lake City Business Academy

The Craft Lake City Academy is a series of professional development workshops designed to educate and support local makers as they build creative businesses. Craft Lake City offers specialty business classes throughout the year, as well as a Grow Your Business Plan multi-week course for emerging makers. The first specialty class is available online and focuses on how to build an online store. Check out the Academy page for details on boosting your business!
