Craft Lake City Presents
Joshua James at the DIY Festival
Friday Night, August 12th
Folk artist Joshua James cut his teeth in the independent Utah music scene before becoming a prominent and consistent name in the national alternative folk and indie rock worlds. After his debut album, The Sun is Always Brighter (2008), was voted the number one folk album of the year on iTunes’ year-end list, James went on to receive acclaim from NPR, Paste, Variety and more as he held the attention of diehard folk-rock fans while always acquiring new ears through his introspective, tuneful songs. Recent years have found him collaborating with other successful folk artists such as Timmy the Teeth and Nate Pyfer and refining his indie-folk sound on his 2021 album, Forever in Life, For Now.
Level up and see Joshua James perform from the Harmons VIP Lounge.
The Harmons VIP Lounge offers attendees access to an autograph session with Joshua James, two complimentary cocktail tickets, shaded seat access with priority view of the stage for Joshua James’ performance and craft food bites from 8 different local craft food purveyors hand-selected by Harmons.

At the DIY Fest, you’re bound to become inspired to be creative yourself. No matter your age, we’ve got you covered!
DIY Stations
Throughout the Festival, you’ll have an opportunity to drop by our two DIY Stations where festival goers can sit down and complete a quick, easy, and fun craft project for free! Contribute to a mural with The Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, or create a modular landscape drawing with The Utah Museum of Fine Art. Both projects are accessible for all age groups. DIY Stations are open during peak Festival times: Friday 5 P.M. – 8 P.M.; Saturday & Sunday 12 P.M. – 5 P.M.
Go Deeper with STEM Days
This year’s Google Fiber STEM Building will feature workshops, demonstrations, and Q&A panels to help you GO DEEPER on exciting and important topics. Friday is Online Design Night, Saturday is Sustainably STEM, and Sunday is Backyard Makers. Code your own bot, sauder a circuitry board, and learn to cultivate mushrooms – all for free! View the daily schedule here.
