“My first notion, when I thought about filling a Plakat was to catch your eye with simple symbols and imagery. Pieced together with hand-painted, hand-cut pieces of galvanized steel sheet metal, hundreds of nails, and many yards of copper wire, it interacts with the daylight, to bring out its shine and metallic glow. This piece of art is intended to celebrate the ways we use our hands as tools – to bend, shape, and bring to fruition that which we create in our mind’s eye. The triple Moon Goddess symbol (Maiden, Mother, Crone) on the back of the piece is one of my favorite reflections of the natural beauty and permanence of constant change.” – Carri Wakefield
