About the Headlining Performers at the 15th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival Presented By Harmons
Warpaint are a 4-piece band from California whose unique brand of intricate guitar lines, hypnotic vocals and driving post punk rhythms combine to create a gorgeous, unique sound. Both on record and on stage Warpaint sound like they’re channeling something truly otherworldly and mystical. Warpaint have seen constant exposure in publications such as The Guardian, The Independent, Rolling Stone, Spin, Mojo, Q, Crack Magazine, Interview, Nylon, Bust, NME and was featured on the cover of the LA Weekly, as well as having performed on television programs such as Conan, Ellen and Later With Jools Holland.
Warpaint’s debut album The Fool was named on of the 50 Best Albums of the Decade by NME; their sophomore album ‘Warpaint’ debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard Alternative Album Chart as well as the U.K. Album Chart, and was named one of the albums of the year in publications such as The Chicago Tribune, LA Magazine, Time Out, NME and American Songwriter. Their third album ‘Heads Up’ enjoyed a Top 40 debut on the Billboard Current Albums Chart, #13 on the U.K. Album Chart. ‘Radiate Like This’, the band’s fourth album was released May 6, 2022. “Radiate Like This “captures what’s always been the magic of Warpaint—the delicate interplay of four separate parts coalescing in motion while somehow allowing each individual to shine a little brighter.
Courtney Marie Andrews was raised in Maricopa County by a single mother and a ragtag collection of Southwest eccentrics with a penchant for characters: bikers, Buddhists and cowboys. It was an unorthodox childhood, as a latchkey kid at the age of 7 and her mom working nights at Walmart and days at a call center in Phoenix she was often left to her own devices. Armed with a guitar her uncle had bought her for 30 pesos on a trip to Mexico, she spent this time developing her brilliant musical mind.
Her early pursuits led to her playing in punk bands in high school before becoming a touring member of Jimmy Eat World at just 18 years old, and from there Courtney went on to release a series of acclaimed albums. She garnered her first GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of “Best Americana Album” for 2020’s Old Flowers. Meanwhile, the record closed out 2020 on year-end lists from Good Morning America, Magnet, and Uncut. The New York Times raved, “Courtney Marie Andrews’s luminous new album, ‘Old Flowers,’ anatomizes the aftermath of breaking up: loneliness, bittersweet memories, recriminations, regrets, temptations, lessons of experience.” Highlighting “Burlap String,” Rolling Stone claimed, “Driven by acoustic guitar, the song brings to mind classic Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell, but Andrews’ bell-clear voice and fearless message of introspection are unmistakably her own.” Of the album, Stereogum attested, “up front in all of it is Andrews’ voice, wringing beauty out of pain and selfrealization.” Loose Future ultimately represents a high watermark of her unbelievable journey thus far.
Gable Price and Friends is a 4-piece alternative rock and roll band, with a whole lot of damage to do and a whole lot of cities to play. Currently residing in Northern California; 3 Midwest boys and a Californian—Gable Price, Cameron Pablo, Daniel Vargas, and Adam Elizararraz—continue to gain ground, turn heads and provide a euphoric live and recorded experience. From recording their demos in a garage, and Gables 1977 Camper van: “The Dreamboat,” to recently signing with Capitol CMG, the boys have no intention of slowing down anytime soon. Gable Price and Friends are known for sentimental, provocative lyrics regarding the human condition, screaming guitars and bass, with driving drums that make you wanna get a speeding ticket. This group of 20-somethings is eager for the public to hear their new record and excited to share the songs with a group of sweaty people in a venue somewhere, sometime. Keep your head straight, hopes up, heart right; and remember to be a good friend.
