Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital will delay some pre-scheduled procedures and surgeries due to the high volume of pediatric patients, driven by a surge in RSV illness. RadioACTive shared comments from Dr. Andrew Pavia, pediatric infectious diseases physician, made during a Zoom press conference earlier today.
- Up to 50 such procedures are expected to be postponed this week, equating to about 10 percent of all surgeries and procedures at the hospital.
- Everyone in the community is urged to do all they can to stay safe and well by staying home when they are sick, observing good hand hygiene, and getting vaccines for flu and COVID.
