Craft Lake City and Creative West Welcome Cultural Fire Events at the 17th Annual DIY Festival Presented by Harmons

Craft Lake City is honored to partner with Creative West to welcome Cultural Fire Events Inc. to the 17th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival Presented By HarmonsThe special and powerful  performance will take place on Friday, August 8 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the KRCL 90.9FM Main Stage.

Based in Utah, Cultural Fire Events Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Indigenous-led nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting, celebrating and bringing together indigenous people, culture and community. Built around the belief that Indigenous people thrive when they’re culturally connected, the organization creates community-focused cultural gatherings, such as powwows and cultural celebrations.

This special performance offers Craft Lake City DIY Fest attendees a meaningful opportunity to engage with and learn from four Indigenous cultures: Northwest Band of Shoshone, Navajo, Ute,and Tsuut’ina. The group enjoys sharing the stories and cultural significance behind each dance before they perform. The show will end with some light audience participation through a round dance.

The Cultural Fire Events is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to Native American culture and community development throughout the Southwest. The organization has hosted Powwowws and similar events since 2022. The Co-founders of Cultural Fire Events believe that Indigenous people thrive when they are culturally connected. These events help strengthen the identity of Native American youth and families living off of the reservation and away from their communities.
