Craft Lake City Partners with Valley Fair on New Winter Workshops

Salt Lake City, UT – Nov. 11, 2021 Craft Lake City and Valley Fair announced two new winter DIY craft workshops: Pet Portrait Embroidery with Liz Vowles of Liz V. Embroidery and Hand-Lettered Holiday Ornaments with Betsy Goodman of B Goods Lettering. Both workshops will be located indoors at a central storefront in Valley Fair (3601 S 2700 W, West Valley City, UT 84119.)

In our Pet Portrait Embroidery workshop on December 8 at 6:00 p.m., participants will choose between a dog or cat model and learn the fundamental skill of translating a photo of a beloved pet into a keepsake embroidery. Liz will show participants step-by-step how to read their reference photos, outline their pieces, go in with detailed stitchwork to make the outline pop, and finish their hoops. All materials for this class will be provided, along with extra supplies to create your own custom piece at home. The cost is $39 and attendees will each receive a bonus $10 gift card to one of the shops or restaurants at Valley Fair for their next visit!

Join us for a Hand-Lettered Holiday Ornaments workshop with Betsy Goodman of B Goods Lettering on December 15 at 6:00 p.m. In this workshop each attendee will learn how to create script lettering, draw block letters, draw holiday decorative elements, use a paint marker, and prep ornaments. Merging all these new skills together, attendees will letter their own custom holiday ornaments! All supplies will be provided and beginners are welcome. The cost is $39 and attendees will each receive a free $10 gift card to one of the shops or restaurants at Valley Fair for their next visit.

Craft Lake City and Valley Fair are actively curating an extended series of craft classes scheduled from now through May of 2022.
