Craft Lake City is thrilled to announce the return of Kid Row, a Saturday-only pop-up market for youth entrepreneurs at the 17th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival Presented By Harmons. Now in its ninth year, Kid Row will take place Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., showcasing talented makers ages 18 and under.
Since launching in 2017, Kid Row has provided a platform for hundreds of local, young creators to showcase and sell their handmade goods. This special section of the 17th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Fest Presented By Harmons gives youth entrepreneurs hands-on experience in customer service, sales, pricing, market research, marketing, merchandising and other small business skills, empowering the next generation of makers.
Kid Row also serves as the culminating project of Craft Lake City’s Youth Entrepreneur Program Powered By VentureLab, which provides free afterschool arts and business workshops, a practice market at the Downtown Farmers Market in Salt Lake City and waived DIY Fest exhibitor fees for youth in elementary through high school.
Festivalgoers can find Kid Row at the DIY Fest at the Utah State Fairpark on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on the grass between the entrance and gazebo. Participants of Kid Row will exhibit and sell handmade goods in a wide variety of mediums including ceramics, artwork, stickers, jewelry, home decor, accessories and more. For these participants, Kid Row offers a formative entrepreneurial experience and supportive community space to launch their creative careers.
Craft Lake City is proud to collaborate with Utah Afterschool Network, VentureLab, the Salt Lake City Public Library, Urban Food Connections of Utah, Backman Elementary and Promise South Salt Lake to support and uplift these young makers and entrepreneurs.
