Craft Lake City is plugging into the local game scene on Friday, December 5 from 5 p.m.–9 p.m. during the Seventh Annual Craft Lake City Holiday Market’s Indie Game Arcade at Ogden Union Station.
This Friday-only feature of the event will showcase eleven electrifying STEM exhibitors. The Indie Game Arcade is the perfect hub to recharge and reconnect with friends and family after a holiday shopping spree. Attendees can explore exciting virtual worlds, fight in thrilling space battles, find a new favorite party game and even give real-time feedback to developers.
Craft Lake City’s mission is to uplift Utah’s creative community in exciting new ways by highlighting inspiring local innovators in STEM fields alongside over 180 Utah-based artisans, craft foodies, local food trucks, vintage vendors, performers and youth entrepreneurs.
All games featured in the Indie Game Arcade will be free to play, but developers will also have merchandise available for any new fans.

Blue Octopus Games
Created by the husband-and-wife duo, Andrew and Kirsten Butler, Blue Octopus Games, creates board games that bring people together whether it be through laughs, strategy or all-out chaos.
Division of Game – University of Utah
The University of Utah’s Division of Game features an incredibly diverse line-up of student-made video games from the Master of Entertainment Arts and Engineering program. Patrons can explore the cosmos or solve intricate puzzles with these engaging games.
Earth Shatter Games
An independent game developer, Earth Shatter Games‘ debut title, Sorcery Slam, harkens back to the retro polygon aesthetic and adds a fun and competitive puzzle element that makes it a true party pleaser.
Incan Arcade Studios
Founded by Dominic Ojeda, Incan Arcade Studios creates visually beautiful and exciting virtual worlds with their nostalgic pixel art style. Games like Dino Mayhem are the perfect example of the combination of art and tech.
Polyphonic
Attendees can enter the digital storytelling landscape with Polyphonic. Journalist and social listener, Jonathan Nellermoe invites people to connect with each other by inhabiting their stories.
Spy Hop
Market-goers can explore unique digital landscapes with Spy Hop. As a digital media arts center, Spy Hop offers FREE programs for people ages 12-19, in film, audio, music and design and allow them to unleash their creative spirit.
Studio Primitive
Studio Primitive is anything but primitive with their sleek, colorful and modern video game design. Based in Northern Utah, brothers Joel and Grant release iconic titles such as “Attack of the Karens” and “Boardwalk Builders”. Each game is a fun and exciting playthrough.
Ticcio LLC
Marketgoers looking for the perfect game for social gatherings are sure to be pleased with Ticcio LLC’s Man Card. Everyone is invited to put their masculinity to the test with debates, trivia and so much more! Well-rounded and satirical, it’s a fun time full of laughs.
Trim Tab
Trim Tab is a Salt Lake Community College program that opens up a whole new world for young aspiring makers to explore and create. Inspiring curiosity and creativity is what Trim Tab is all about.
Virtual Crux
Explore the digital world of Current, created by independent game studio, Virtual Crux. Started by graduates from the University of Utah, Virtual Crux invites attendees to fully immerse themselves in their game.
Whatnot Studios
A lover of the classics, John D. Moore of Whatnot Studios has been making games for 30 years. Implementing a modern style to old-fashioned game mechanics, Whatnot Studios’ vast library is a love-letter to the ever-evolving art of game development.
The Indie Game Arcade invites attendees to relax and enjoy a huge selection of games and activities while connecting with the local game making community. With so many titles to explore, attendees are sure to find a new addictive favorite to add to their holiday wishlist.
