February 2022 Workshops with Craft Lake City

NEW at Valley Fair: Create Beautiful Marbled Greeting Cards or Valentines! 💌

Craft your own gorgeous hand-marbled greeting cards (or Valentines!) with local artisan Allison Usher of Allison Claire Cards in this hands-on DIY workshop! Using accessible and beginner-friendly tools as well as a variety of stamps and other materials, you will learn how to create unique stationery that you can use to share X’s and O’s with the loved ones in your life! Before the dawn of our current tech era, handwritten letters were the dominant form of correspondence. Love letters, birthday cards, sympathy notes… there was the perfect type of letter for each occasion and it was made that much more personal by being penned by its sender. Join the snail mail revolution as we celebrate the lost art of heartfelt analog communications, all while learning new skills and having fun! All supplies are provided, and beginners are welcome. Attendees will also receive a bonus $10 gift card to one of the restaurants at Valley Fair for their next visit!

About The Instructor:
Hi! My name is Allison and I work full time as a pediatric physical therapist. I have been an avid lover of writing letters for years; my mom and grandmas instilled the importance of thank you notes and sending snail mail to loved ones from anearly age. I started making hand-marbled stationery as a hobby during the COVID pandemic which eventually turned into opening my own Etsy shop. I’ve loved experimenting with different color schemes and look forward to sharing my passion for this beginner-friendly craft with each of you!Instagram: @allisonclairecards

About The Instructor:
Lexi got her start with watercolor painting during the great pandemic shutdown of April 2020. She’s keen to share all she’s learned in the past 16 months and help new watercolorists pick great supplies and find their way forward without fear or regret. She spent the winter of 2021 working on a project with Ski Utah to collect snowmelt from all 15 of Utah’s ski areas. She’s now painting each mountain with snowmelt and hoping to raise awareness about the effects of climate change while raising money for Protect Our Winters. Lexi works in the ski industry and draws most of her inspiration from the stellar scenery across the state of Utah.
