Salt Lake City, February 11 – Craft Lake City® is pleased to announce Application Assistance Days for the 12th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival®.
Application Assistance Days are an initiative of the Craft Lake City DIY Festival Inclusion Program, developed as part of the organization’s overall diversity and inclusion strategy. The goal of the Craft Lake City DIY Festival Inclusion Program is to support individuals from underrepresented and/or socially or economically excluded communities in order to provide all local makers with opportunities to creatively and economically thrive.
Application Assistance Days for the12th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival are open to all applicants who would like help applying for the Craft Lake City DIY Festival. Craft Lake City staff and board members are on hand to provide support with the digital application, assist applicants in writing a professional bio, and photographing their work—all essential components of a successful application. Attendees can finish their 12th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival application on-site or walk away with the knowledge and support to complete the process on their own.
New for this year—Craft Lake City is expanding Application Assistance Days by adding an event in Northern Utah on Saturday, March 14 from 10am-12pm at Weber County Main Library in Ogden.
Free professional photography services are provided on-site. Our photographer will stage and photograph the applicant’s items and will provide a handful of professional quality photos for the artisan or DIY engineer to keep and use at no cost. Performers who need a professional headshot or band photo are also encouraged to attend.

No appointment is necessary—just show up at any of the scheduled Application Assistance Days at public libraries. We recommend applying early to avoid the last minute rush.
Application Assistance Days are funded in part by the Salt Lake City Arts Council, Salt Lake City’s Arts, Culture and Events Fund, as well as Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts and Parks Fund. Craft Lake City funds the remainder of the program. Applications for the 12th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival will remain open through April 6, 2020. The DIY Festival will be held Friday, Aug. 7, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 8 from noon to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 9 from noon to 7 p.m. at the Utah State Fairpark, located at 155 North 1000 West in Salt Lake City. Admission is $7 and children 12 and under are free. More information can be found at craftlakecity.com.
