Craft Lake City is excited to announce that renowned lettering artists Jessica Hische and Aaron Draplin will headline as the keynote speakers at The Fifth Annual Craft Lake City LetterWest, taking place April 10–11th in Midvale, UT. This annual conference gathers lettering enthusiasts from around the globe to celebrate and learn modern hand-lettering, calligraphy and design through keynote presentations, hands-on workshops, networking opportunities, panel discussions and special events.
Acclaimed lettering artist and designer Jessica Hische will present “Creativity in the Age of AI” Presented By XYZ Type, a talk exploring how emerging technologies are shaping the creative process and how designers can maintain their unique voice.
Hische’s keynote and Q&A are presented by XYZ Type, an independent-type foundry creating expressive, contemporary fonts. As a first-year LetterWest sponsor, XYZ Type supports design discourse and leadership at the conference. Both the keynote and Q&A will take place at The Pearl on Main.
Also headlining is graphic designer Aaron Draplin of Draplin Design Co., presenting “An Update from the Front Lines of Cutthroat Contemporary Graphic Design: And Other Lies, Fibs, and Perjuries.” Draplin will share an energetic and candid look at the professional design industry, blending humor with insights from his decades of experience.
