SALT LAKE CITY, Friday, June 20 – West Elm and Craft Lake City will host the June installment of the DIY Workshop Series on June 27, featuring Katy Willis of America’s Sign Kitchen. Katy will be teaching workshop participants the basics of brush lettering, a ‘casual’ lettering technique in sign painting, which participants will use to create their own hand-painted “EAT” sign. Sign Painter and CLC Alum, Colt Bowden will also join Katy to give participants a few tips and tricks!
West Elm, a home furnishings retailer who helps and engages customers to shape their personal style in their homes, will host the fourth class of the West Elm and Craft Lake City DIY Workshop Series. They continue their partnership with Craft Lake City, and their mutual goal is to compel participants of all skillsets to indulge in their creative sides to produce art and stylized home accouterment.
Katy Willis recently moved to Salt Lake City to run the sign department at Trader Joe’s. Her goal is to make signs that brighten up a happy kitchen and make a happy cook.
Registration for the workshop is currently open. There is a $10 materials fee, preregistration is required and can be done here: http://skl.sh/ZMI5gX. West Elm Salt Lake City is located in City Creek Center at 51 S. Main Street.
