Craft Lake City is excited to host its annual gift drive at the Seventh Annual Craft Lake City Holiday Market, partnering for the first time with the Weber-Morgan Children’s Justice Center(CJC). Attendees can shop from more than 180 featured local makers and donate gifts to brighten the holidays and support children and families in need.
The CJC is a child-focused organization dedicated to reducing trauma during child abuse investigations by providing a safe, supportive environment for children and their families. Through this partnership, Craft Lake City will collect gifts, comfort items, and essential resources to support local kids and families this holiday season.
Items being collected could include new toys, children’s clothing, small comfort items, artisan-made goods, pre-packaged and nonperishable craft food, adult coloring books for older youth and gift cards for gas or restaurants to meet important family needs. Many Holiday Market exhibitors will also be offering discounts on gift purchases made for donationsto the gift drive, with participating booths marked with special signage. Attendees are encouraged to consider purchasing products directly from exhibitors to donate during the market.
Donations can be dropped off at monitored, clearly marked bins located around Ogden Union Station during the Craft Lake City Holiday Market on Friday, Dec. 5 from 5–9 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 6 from 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
The Annual Craft Lake City Holiday Market is the perfect place to shop local and connect with the community during the gift-giving season. The Holiday Market gift drive has been an annual achievement since 2021, with last year’s gift drive serving over 100 Utah individuals.
“Partnering with the Children’s Justice Center this year as our gift drive recipient organization is so exciting and fulfilling,” says Angela H. Brown, Craft Lake City’s Executive Director. “The Holiday Market Gift Drive is our way of bringing the community together to help families in need, and we’re grateful to play a part in making the holidays a little brighter for so many.”
The Seventh Annual Craft Lake City Holiday Market will be held over two days: Friday, Dec. 5 from 5–9 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 6 from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Over 180 local creatives, including artisans, vintage vendors, craft food vendors, food trucks, performers, indie game developers and youth entrepreneurs at Kid Row will be showcasing their talents and selling handmade work. The Holiday Market Gift Drive is one way Craft Lake City gives back to the community this holiday season.
About Children’s Justice Center:
Since 1991, the Weber/Morgan Children’s Justice Center (CJC) has been dedicated to its mission: to provide a place where small voices can be heard. The CJC offers a child-friendly, comfortable environment designed to reduce trauma during child abuse investigations.
The Center is supported through a vital combination of state, local, and federal funding. Additionally, the Friends of the Weber/Morgan Children’s Justice Center, a private 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, raises crucial private funds. Donations to the nonprofit are used to create a welcome environment for child victims of crime and to offer comfort measures. The friends board also provides essential program and training support for care providers that government agencies cannot offer alone.
