Craft Lake City has partnered with the Salt Lake City Stars, the NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, to introduce the SLC Stars Kids’ Area at the 17th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival Presented By Harmons.
Just recently, the local team went through a rebrand to more closely align themselves with the Utah Jazz. Free Stars tickets, swag and craft activities showcasing the team’s new branding will be available at the Kids’ Area along with their mascot, Buster Bear, for games and autographs throughout all three days.
The area will once again feature hands-on craft activities like coloring pages of the new SLC Stars logos, a “Design a Stars Jersey” contest, sport-related games and other exciting festival attractions, including pirate ship playgrounds. Families with children of all ages are invited to visit the SLC Stars Kids’ Area at the 17th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Fest this August 8, 9 and 10 at the Utah State Fairpark. Hours for each day are as follows: Friday, August 8, 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.; Saturday, August 9, 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.; Sunday, August 10, 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
General admission and dog tickets are available now at advance pricing on 24tix.com, with free admission for kids 12 & under.
Festival-going kids will enjoy many activities. This includes access to unicorn bounce houses, tropical themed inflatable slides, inflatable shooting games, tic-tac-toe, a DIY Slime station featuring the SLC Stars colors, writing a message to players on a SLC Stars banner, water balloon-launching catapults and photo ops with the Jazz Bear Van. Special guests attending over the weekend include the Utah Grizzlies and LOVB Salt Lake Volleyball.
“We’re so excited to sponsor this event and to share our new branding with the community! We want kids to interact and know more about their local sports teams,” says the SLC Stars. “We hope this encourages them to go out, be more active and fall in love with a new sport.”
Classic festival activities will be making a comeback as well. Two face painters will provide their artistic talent and interactive science activities will be available with the Craft Lake City STEM Rocket Launches. Tickets for these activities are available for purchase at the Kids’ Area as well as at Craft Lake City’s ticketing booth at the main gates.
Don’t miss your chance to check out the SLC Stars Kids’ Area and get the chance to win free vouchers and other items at their raffle booth!
“At Craft Lake City, we believe creativity and community go hand in hand, and that starts with our youngest makers,” says Angela H. Brown, Executive Director of Craft Lake City. “We’re thrilled to partner with the SLC Stars to offer a space where kids can explore hands-on activities, connect with local sports teams and experience the joy of creating. It’s collaborations like this that make the DIY Festival such a dynamic and inclusive celebration.”
Craft Lake City and SLC Stars invite visitors to get their head in the game and come on down to the 17th Annual DIY Fest Presented By Harmons and cheer on the SLC Stars in their upcoming basketball season from early November to early March.
