Lunch & Learn with Craft Lake City and Utah Community Action
Wed., April 21 at Noon | Virtual Event
Salt Lake City – Members of the community are invited to spend their lunch hour with Craft Lake City and local non-profit Utah Community Action (UCA) for a virtual Lunch & Learn event on Wednesday, April 21 at noon! Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about UCA, ask questions about their community-based programs, and share ideas inspired by the Local Voices: Utah Community Action outdoor installation. This virtual event is free, but registration is required.
Founded in 1965, Utah Community Action is a nationally recognized provider of comprehensive services for income-eligible families. Their six core programs—Head Start, Adult Education, Case Management & Housing, Nutrition, HEAT, and Weatherization—address barriers to self-reliance to empower individuals, strengthen families and build communities.
Local Voices: Utah Community Action is an outdoor display on view in downtown Salt Lake City through April 30, 2021. The social distancing-friendly project is displayed in six steel frames along Broadway (300 South) between West Temple and 200 East, and is available to view for free 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Members of the public are invited to view the installation and examine how they can take part in reimagining a community in which everyone has the essential services they need to focus on self-reliance.
Local Voices is an installation series curated and organized by Craft Lake City, with support from The Temporary Museum of Permanent Change and The Center for the Living City, and highlights the inspiring work of Utah-based organizations in an effort to connect the community with ideas that matter. The plakat displays rotate throughout the year.
