SALT LAKE CITY, Monday, July 27, 2009
SLUG Magazine announced the band line-up for the first annual Craft Lake City alternative craft festival, taking place August 8, 2009 at the Gallivan Center.
Holding true to the DIY ethos and revolutionary attitude of the local crafters displaying their work at Craft Lake City, the musical line-up features a wide array of sounds from Salt Lake City and beyond. The Coyote Hoods will kick off the entertainment for the day with their brand of acoustic garage rock, followed by Springville, UT’s rockabilly family band Mad Max and the Wild Ones and the experimental blues of Aye Aye. Denver’s Casey James Prestwood, formerly of Hot Rod Circuit and Drag the River, will be showcasing his new country project, Casey James Prestwood & The Burning Angels in the middle of the day, followed by one of Salt Lake’s most celebrated bands, Cub Country. Shaking up the roots, blues, and country featured earlier in the day will be experimental metal band Subrosa and the droning psychedelic sounds of The Tiny Lights. Finally, Mammoth, the instrumental side-project of Salt Lake City post-everything band Laserfang, will bring the festival to a close.
Each band will be playing a one hour set throughout the day from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the Gaillvan Center stage:
2-3pm: Coyote Hoods
3-4pm: Mad Max and the Wild Ones
