SALT LAKE CITY – West Elm and Craft Lake City announce the August DIY Workshop: Hand-carved Soap Flowers with Subin Doenges on Wed., Aug. 28, 2013.
CLC DIY Festival artisan Subin Doenges will be teaching workshop participants how to hand carve and paint flowers made from a bar of soap. West Elm, a home furnishings retailer known for helping customers discover personal style in their home, will host the fifth class of the West Elm and Craft Lake City DIY Workshop Series in the City Creek Center West Elm store. The partnership between West Elm and Craft Lake City is designed to encourage participants of all skillsets to indulge in their creative sides in order to produce art and stylized home accoutrement.
Workshop participants will go home with their own hand-carved soap flower, carved and painted by them. The workshop will be held Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013 from 7 to 9 p.m. There is a $10 materials fee, and participants can pre-register on Skillshare via http://skl.sh/124WR40.
