Wednesday, July 31st: 11th Annual Craft Lake City® DIY Festival® is pleased to announce 2019 Google FIber STEM Building Exhibitors and FREE STEM Workshops!
For the third consecutive year, The Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival will host free STEM workshops at the Festival inside the Google Fiber Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Building.
Located onsite at the Festival’s new home The Utah State Fairpark, the Google Fiber STEM Building is one of the most popular attractions at the Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival. DIY Engineers display interactive science projects, inventions, incubator concepts, modular synths, virtual reality experiences, prototypes, 3-D printing and other technology projects. Step inside the Google Fiber STEM Building for a unique festival experience featuring dozens of exhibitors, make-and-take STEM crafts and multiple FREE workshops!

FREE STEM WORKSHOPS
Craft Lake City STEM workshop topics feature interactive and hands-on creative experiences that are fun for all ages. Workshop presenters include the Salt Lake City Public Library Creative Lab, The Leonardo and Westminster College’s chapter of the American Chemical Society.
Use Virtual Reality and Tiltbrush to create works of art in a virtual space! Experience art like never before on Friday and Saturday with the Creative Lab from the Salt Lake City Public Library.
Have you ever seen sound? Did you know that sound moves in waves from its source towards your ears? These sound waves can create beautiful and amazing geometric patterns that we can see with just a little bit of Physics and a whole lot of wonder. Come explore the visualization of different sound waves with The Leonardo during their workshops on Saturday and Sunday.
Westminster College’s chapter of the American Chemical Society will be presenting kids workshops on DIY bookmarks and UV bead bracelets on both Saturday and Sunday. Kids will be able to create their very own bracelets or necklaces out of beads that change color under UV light. Chemist Volunteers will be on hand to explain the science behind these two experiments.
