Salt Lake City, Friday, April 8, 2016 — West Elm and Craft Lake City present the May Embroidery Workshop with Chloe Monson of Black Hole Needle Works. The workshop will be held on Thursday, May 5, at West Elm City Creek from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

A lifelong maker, Monson has worked in many mediums, including oil, watercolor and illustration. After finding her niche in embroidery, Monson founded Black Hole Needle Works and was featured as a vendor at the 2015 Craft Lake City DIY Festival. “My whole life, I have been living creatively through different mediums,” says Monson. “When I started embroidering, you could see my personal style really shine through. Everything came so effortlessly.”

Inspired by tattoo flash, comic books and girl power, Monson’s style is eclectic and distinct. For this workshop, participants will learn how to embroider a flash-tattoo style heart, perfect for home décor or a Mothers Day surprise. Craft Lake City is excited to offer an opportunity to learn from one of Utah’s most talented and unique artisans.

Presented at West Elm once a month at the City Creek Center, located at 51 S. Main St., Salt Lake City, Utah. this workshop series aims to compel participants of all skill sets to indulge in their creative sides to produce art and stylized home accoutrements.

There is a $30 material fee. Pre-registration is required. Register here.
