Craft Lake City Announces Application Assistance Days for the 10th Annual DIY Festival

Salt Lake City, March 6 – Craft Lake City® is pleased to announce Application Assistance Days for the 10th Annual DIY Festival®.

Application Assistance Days are open to any first-time applicant who would like help when applying for the DIY Festival. Craft Lake City staff are on hand to provide one-on-one assistance with the digital application. Attendees can finish their DIY Festival applications on-site or walk away with the knowledge and support to complete the process on their own.

Free professional photography services will also be available on-site. Applicants can have their artwork, band, or STEM project photographed for free to help them put their best foot forward in their applications. Our photographers will help stage and photograph the applicant’s items, and will provide them with a handful of professional quality photos that are theirs to keep and use at no cost.

Application Assistance Days are an initiative of Craft Lake City’s DIY Festival Inclusion Program. Craft Lake City developed the DIY Festival Inclusion Program as part of our overall diversity and inclusion strategy. The goal of the DIY Festival Inclusion Program is to support individuals from underrepresented and/or socially or economically excluded communities in order to provide the entire community with opportunities to creatively and economically thrive.

Application Assistance Days are funded in part by grants from the Lawrence T. & Janet T. Dee Foundation and Salt Lake City’s Arts, Culture and Events Fund. Craft Lake City funds the remainder of the program via the DIY Festival budget. Applications for the 10th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival will remain open through April 5, 2018. The DIY Festival will be held at the Gallivan Center in downtown Salt Lake City on Friday, Aug. 10, Saturday, Aug. 11 and Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018.
