Craft Lake City is thrilled to announce the expansion of Kid Row Sponsored by Utah Afterschool Network at the 15th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival Presented By Harmons to include 15-18 year old makers! Kid Row, the Saturday-only youth artisan entrepreneur section of our annual DIY Fest, previously cut off at age fourteen. After recognizing a lack of equitable access to local arts programming for teens, we’ve expanded the program this year to include kids and teens up to age 18. “The Utah Afterschool Network supports youth of all ages engaging in meaningful experiences and opportunities,” says Ben Trentleman, Executive Director of UAN. “14-18-year-olds are already experimenting with entrepreneurial endeavors, and this will help them channel their ambition and curiosity in a safe environment where they can learn, connect, and inspire one another while they see firsthand the opportunities that exist to follow their dreams.”

Since 2017, Craft Lake City has held this Saturday-only program at the DIY Festival for youth artisans to sell, promote and exhibit their work while learning the principles of entrepreneurship. We are thrilled to be expanding eligible participation to those aged 15, 16, 17 and 18 for the first year since the program’s launch.

Exhibiting at Kid Row is a fantastic opportunity for kids & teens to learn about running a small business in a real world festival environment while making friends with other creative kids! Do you know a maker aged 18 or under? Encourage them to apply to participate in this year’s Kid Row! Applications are now open to Utah residents until April 6, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. MST.
