Craft Lake City to participate in Love Utah Give Utah – 24 hour fundraiser

Salt Lake City – On March 20, 2014, Craft Lake City along with 500 other Utah non-profits will be joining Love Utah Give Utah in a 24-hour group effort to raise funds for Utah non-profits.

Love Utah Give Utah brings Uthans together for 24 hours of giving. Providing the community with a day to give back to the organizations that make Utah so special.

All funds raised for Craft Lake City during Love Utah Give Utah will go towards all aspects
of the organization, including DIY Festival expenses and keeping it a free event for all to attend, monthly workshops, gallery shows and exhibits, fundraisers and collaborative projects with like-minded organizations.

Since its inception in 2009, Craft Lake City has run on virtually no funding. However, in order for Craft Lake City to grow and expand its reach with both the DIY Festival and year-round activities, Craft Lake City is asking for the assistance of the community. By being a part of the Love Utah Give Utah event on March 20th, Craft Lake City hopes to spread the word of Craft Lake City and further re-define the term “craft” by broadening the definition to encompass all things handmade.

With your donation of $50 or more, you may sign up to participate in a two-hour floral arranging workshop taught by Pam Martinson Olson on Sat. March 22, 2014, 10 a.m. at Ensign Floral, 461 South 600 East. The workshop will include a brief tour of the facility and a sneak peak behind the wholesale floral industry. Pam will then teach participants the basics of working with flowering branches and spring flowering bulbs.
