Craft Lake City and The Gallivan Center Present: Metal Hairpin Workshop with Desert Rose Jewelry

Salt Lake City, March 16 – The Gallivan Center and Craft Lake City® are pleased to announce a Metal Hairpin Workshop with local artisan Malinda Fisher of Desert Rose Jewelry, scheduled to be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Gallivan Center Main Stage.

Self-taught metalsmith Malinda Fisher is the creative force behind Desert Rose Jewelry, a company she created in 2010. Fisher is known for her delicate designs that capture the spirit of Utah’s desert landscape. In this workshop, Fisher will lead attendees through the process of cutting, drilling, filing and forming sheet metal into a decorative hairpin.

“I’m looking forward to teaching participants new skills and techniques working with metal that can easily be used in jewelry making at home,” says Fisher. “I love teaching workshops through Craft Lake City because it’s a great opportunity for people to get in touch with their creative sides.”

Pre-registration for the Metal Hairpin workshop is required. There is a $35 workshop materials fee. For tickets and workshop policies, visit craftlakecity.com/worskhops.
